Chapter 2: Princesses Don't Work

Harpers Bedroom ⇈⇈⇈

I woke up to someone shaking me.

"Harper,wake up" a soft voice said, I slowly opened my eyes.

To be greeted by a beautiful smile and beautiful gray eyes, I immediately smiled and propped myself on my elbows.

Last night halfway through the movie I started feeling sleepy, and I remember talking to Cody about the weather and him kissing me goodnight.

I looked around my surroundings to know whether it rained or not.

"Thank heavens it didn't rain" I said "Yea I was really worried" he laughed.

"What time is it?" I asked laying back down.

"It's 9:24" he said checking his phone "Did you tell your brother you were with me the whole night?" he asked looking at me.

My eyes widened "Shit" I cursed "Can you give me my bag?" I said.

He gave me my bag looking like he was trying to hold in his laughter.

"What's funny?" I asked. "You know he's gonna kill you, right?" I asked as I started searching for my phone.

Once I found I immediately started texting my brother just to find out there was no signal "Crap, there's no signal"and that's when Cody bursted out laughing.

I looked up at him "What?" I asked, confused as hell.

"H-he kno-knows" he managed to stutter out, clutching his stomach as he continued laughing.

"You asshole!" I yelled, this made him laugh more.

I just stared at him trying to be angry but of course I couldn't stand to be angry at him, so I eventually started laughing with him, seeing him so happy also makes me happy.

Once I stopped laughing, Cody was staring at me, smiling.

"What?" I asked, smiling. He shook his head "Where do you want to eat breakfast?" he asked.

"McDonalds!" I screamed, he laughed.

"Ok then let me just pack this up then we can go, wait in the car" he said, starting to pack.

"I'll help" I said, helping him, he caught my hand "No you're not, today is gonna be a day for you, and besides princesses don't work" he said, then winked.

I stuck out my tongue at him "Fine" I said running inside the car.

I connected my phone to his radio and started playing Fake Love by BTS, I knew he hated this song and so did I but it didn't annoy me as much as it annoyed him.

I laughed when I heard him groan at the beat of the song, I got out of the car and started singing loudly.

Before I knew it, he had me on his back, carrying me towards the lake.

I started punching his back "DON'T YOU DARE CODY!" I screamed.

"PUT ME DOWN!" I screamed "Okay" he said, then dropped me in the cold water, I didn't even realise that we were already in the lake.

I resurfaced from the cold water, to see a laughing Cody.

I marched towards him and pulled him in with me, while he was laughing.

This time it was my turn to laugh, as he started coughing out water.

But when 2 minutes have passed and he hasn't stopped coughing, I started getting worried.

I walked towards him and placed my hand on his back "Are you okay?" I asked.

He didn't respond and just continued coughing "Cody, come on let's go back to the car." I said.

When he still continued coughing I took his hand and dragged him back to the car.

"I'll go get the medecine, stay here" I said, leaving him at the back of the car.

When I found the medecine in my bag I immediately went back to him taking my phone with me, but when I got back I saw him laying on the grass.

I ran to him and checked his pulse, his heart was still beating,but he was unconscious

"Cody! Oh god!" I yelled, I opened my phone to call 911 just to remember there was no signal, that's when I started crying.

"What am I gonna do? "I said to myself.

"CPR"

"Right! CPR" I said.

I started leaning down, then I realised someone said CPR, I started looking around to find someone, but no one was around.

"YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE!" I screamed at him punching his chest.

He smiled his eyes still closed, but when he opened them to find my tear stained cheek his smile immediately dropped.

He sat up and wiped my tears away "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you cry" he said.

"You know your a jerk, right?" I said, he smiled.

"I'm your jerk" he said leaning in, giving me a quick peck on the lips.

He stood up and offered me a hand "C'mon, let's go eat" he said smiling.

"What are we doing after this?" I asked.

We were currently sitting in a booth at Mcdonalds eating.

"You should go home first, take a shower and grab your stuff, I'll pick you up at two." he said.

"My stuff? Where are we going?" I asked "Just bring a swimsuit, a towel, and clothes, and whatever you girls need." he said.

I just nodded in response, and continued eating my burger.

"Wait, what should I wear?" I asked "Anything" he replied.

"What do you mean anything? You mean you'd allow me to wear a swimsuit while walking around in public?" I asked smirking.

"What!? No!" he screamed, people started looking our way, so I kicked his foot under the table signalling him to shut up.

He looked around to see people looking at him "Sorry" he mumbled.

"Just wear a dress or something" he said.

"Mkay" I said.

Once we finished eating, Cody drove to my house to drop me.

"I'll see you later" he said giving me a quick peck on the lips.

I just smiled in response, and got out of the car, shutting the car door.

I walked up our porch and went inside the house, waving at him before closing the door.

I went up to my bedroom to pack the things I needed.

Once I had everything in my bag, I went to my bed.

And thought about everything that happened today and yesterday.

I smiled when I remembered him saying princesses don't work.

He always treated me like a princess before and he still does, I hope things don't get messed up again.
