Elizabeth Cochran Seaman was an American Journalist who went by the pen name 'Nellie Bly'. Her work created a whole new kind of investigative journalism; most notably, going undercover in a mental asylum to expose its dirty secrets and her record-breaking trip round the world in just 72 days. Both of which were made into literary publications that she is most well known for.
