Quantico Season 3 Take 2

Enigma

Ryan walked into his house with a heavy heart. Honesty was probably the best policy, definitely not the easiest one. He could see Shelby seated on the couch watching television.

As Ryan approahed her, he could  hear her sobbing. Ryan's heart started racing. Does she know?

Shelby saw Ryan and gave him a terrified look. She had been lying to him for so long. It broke her heart to do this to her best friend. But she only wanted to protect Caleb. When Alex returned, Shelby could tell just by looking at Ryan and her that their feelings for each other had resurfaced. After all when they were dating she was their cheif supporter and petty fight councillor.

But she kept shut. To protect Caleb. After Clay's wedding ceremony, the second one after their elopement, Shelby had seen Caleb again. Their love for each other had never stopped. As a year passed, they had grown back together, just as much in love as before. But then disaster struck.
One day Ryan returned. Apparently Alex was alive and still being tracked down. Then Caleb was kidnapped. Noone knew. She suffered all alone. And from that day forth she had kept an eye on Ryan for them, doing exactly what they said, or else....

"You were right to go with the rose gold band and vintage cut."
"I just did what you told me to."
"And that's why you have my blessing."

She had supported them so much. She helped him select a ring for her, he surely would understand hoped Ryan.

"I need to talk." They said at the same time.

"You go first" said Shelby.

Ryan drew a deep breath. "Shelby I ..." His speech faltered. "I know we are engaged, but Shel... I... I kissed Alex."

She looked at him for a second. Then she smiled. His best friend's and Alex's bestie's smile. "Don't worry, you have my blessing." Shelby closed her eyes and smiled. Finally, what had had been doing, what she had to do for Caleb wouldn't come between these two lovers. It made her quite happy.

Ryan was shocked. "you're not at all angry?" He stared at her in disbelief.
"I knew this would happen Ryan, you love her. And I ... I haven't been completely honest with you either. Get Alex over we have some catching up to do. "

It was past midnight, the three friends sat with beer in their hands and tears in their eyes.  For the past 3 years they had all being living lies. 

"And they'll kill him." cried Shelby. Tears were flowing from her eyes.

"You were protecting him Shelby." Said Alex. "It's okay. We're all here. I'm fine. We all do thing we regret to protect love." Her eyes were wet. Her voice was muffled.

Ryan looked at her. Tears had welled up in his eyes.  "Alex, why did you leave me?" he whispered softly.

"They found us Ryan, they threatened to kill you." Her voice was guarded. and her eyes, her eyes were heartbroken. All the pain of leaving him hit her again all at once. But she had to rip off the bandaid to let her wounds heal. "so I lead them away from you."

He knew it. There was no way she left him for a "clean slate". One of the things he loved the most about her was her loyalty. Alex was exactly the type of person who would break his heart to keep it beating.

"So now," said Alex. Her voice full of determination. "Let's go get Caleb back."

"I have no idea where took look." Yelled Shelby slamming her fist on the table.

"Oh Someone's angry." Said Harry.

"Harry I swear to god I..."

"If you're looking for Connor Devlin, you aren't going to find him that easily. Roarke will cover his tracks well."

"Exactly. What we need is a team to sneak into one of their docks, and see what shady stuff they're up to." Said Ryan.

"And speaking of dream team for this job, I've got an idea." Said Alex.

The door behind them opened.

"Perfect timing." Laughed Alex. "With such dramatic effect, we might as well be making a movie."

"Spy twins is movie enough." Said Nimah.

Just then Owen Hall entered.

"I've brought you a leader for the assignment and a crisis."

Miranda Shaw walked in with a smile on her face.

"We really could make a movie." Said Harry. 

Harry smirked, everyone laughed.

"It's your sister Harry." said Owen with a frown. "Devlin has kidnapped her."

Author's note

I'm sorry these uploads have been slightly irregular and grammatically off.  I'm preparing for my final year at Uni and exams are too frequent.

This chapter  was kind of a bridging chapter. To be honest I don't exactly know how to get the story to the point where I had imagined it. There are a few sensitive storylines in season 3 which I'm unsure how to incorporate. If anyone has an idea  please hit me up.
