Chapter 19: Offers & Gang Talks

Third Person P.O.V.

Danielle walked down the hallways as she was trying to find a partner tonight to team against John and Nikki. She would've chosen one of her allies, but they were all occupied with their own matches.

She had gotten offers from people like The Usos, Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, etc, but she declined because she did't really associate with them well and didn't really trust them, even though she knew they were good people.

It's not that she didn't like them, it was just because her trust was broken long ago and her friends were the only ones who had her trust because they worked to earn it.

As she passes by a couple people, she looked in the corner and sighed as she saw his figure here, leaning against the wall, looking at her.

"Well, well, well. What a surprise." she remarked as he walked over to her.

"Look, I know you're looking for a partner tonight. I came here to talk and ask you something. Would you let me be your partner tonight?" he asked.

Danielle put a hand up and stepped back.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Are you hearing yourself right now? Did you really offer to be partner tonight?" she asked.

"Listen, Dani." he started.

"After all the shit you put me through, you really think we can co-exist? After the damage you caused me emotionally and mentally? After breaking my trust, do you really think I'm going to let you off that easy? I'm not stupid, Rollins. I know you'll just screw me over like you did a long time ago." the Angel of Darkness replied.

She was about to walk away until she felt her hand being grabbed.

Danielle looked at Seth, who had a serious, stern look on his face.

"Let me go, Seth." she warned him.

"Listen Salem. I know I fucked everything up with you and hurt you. I know I lost all your trust and shit, but let me do this one thing to show you that I am not the same guy I was before. Let me be your partner for tonight and I promise I won't bug you again." he told her.

"Fine. You can be my partner tonight, but I still don't fucking trust you or like you." she said as she tore her hand away from his grip.

Danielle walked away, but not before turning to look at him.

She couldn't help but think back to the dream last night of them together in her bed. She felt as if there was a small part of her that still longed for him, but the revenge in her heart pushed her to the breaking point and devoured her.

Brushing everything off, she walked off, shaking her head.

Salem looked to her left and saw a familiar face there.

"Riley? You're back?" she asked.

"Yes, babe. I saw you needed assistance and you're outnumbered by one, so I came back."

"I appreciate the help, Riley. Let's go meet the others. You'll meet my new friends too, but they're getting ready. It's just gonna be the gang" she said.

Grabbing the younger girl's hand, she led her through and ended up finding the others in catering, at the very end of the room, at a table. Nobody was in makeup, gear, etc.

"Guys."

They all turned and their eyes lit up when they saw Riley there.

"Dude, you're back?!" Chelsea said as she hugged the girl.

"We haven't seen you since you battled Michelle McCool!" Todd added.

"I signed a new deal, but I won't be here long. Maybe for three years, but after that, I'll go back into retirement because I have a kid at home." Riley explained.

"Whoa, wait up. You have a kid? How'd that happen?" Thomas asked.

"I'll tell you soon. I came here to know what the hell has been happening." the younger girl added.

"The Authority has been on our asses since Danielle came back to save WWE. They cost me my home. I'm living with some relatives." Daikon explained.

"Those Bella bitches and Eva Marie have been hitting on my boyfriend." Chelsea explained as Todd wrapped an arm around her.

"Randy keeps stalking me and my wife's social media." Thomas added.

"They've just been assholes to me. They stole my brother from the family by brainwashing him." Danielle replied.

Danielle couldn't help but chuckle at the blonde girl's reaction.

"Damn."

Todd couldn't help but choke on his drink. "Going Ron Simmons there, I see."

"Oh, shut it, bird brain." she retorted.

Danielle smiled at them, feeling happy that her whole gang from back then was reunited.

"I see you're hell-bent on revenge for what they've done to us and you." Daikon said, placing a hand on his friend's shoulder.

"Danielle, I understand all of this, but you have to let the revenge go and focus on the positive things that will be done once The Authority is gone." Riley explained.

"Why? They've caused nothing but pain to those I care about and they've made my life a living hell by taking my brother and the man I once loved away from me." Danielle replied.

The blonde woman shook her head.

"I understand that, but revenge won't help or do anything. Let it go, you've got to forget about revenge. Believe me, in this work, I've met a lot of people who feel the way you do. Trust me, for those who follow the path of revenge, it never ends well. You'll only tear yourself apart and even if you succeed with your revenge, what would you have then? Nothing...emptiness."

Danielle knew she had a point, but she still had her doubts, so she decided to just go with it. "Fine."

"Damn, sis, you can give a nice ass speech." Harry commented.

"Tell me about it." Chelsea added as everybody else laughed.

"How about we just chill for a bit? We still have two hours before the show." Daikon suggested.

"Sure." Danielle nodded as she and her friends went back to their table.
