@ the Hospital

Janae gathers the little belongings she had in her black book bag and throw it over we shoulder. Her dad is waiting for her outside of the room.

Janae: I think I have everything.

Dad: Good. I just have to go talk to the doctor about your medication.

Janae nods and walks over to the waiting room. She goes through her phone. First, she goes through all her IG photos, laughing at a few and blushes at the ones of her and EJ.

Then, she goes through her gallery, which has many more pictures. The doctor told her to do that in hopes of bringing her full memory back and she has been doing that since 2 days ago, but no progress had been made.

Her dad returns and he motions her to come on. When Janae leaves the hospital, her eyes widen. The palm trees only looked so beautiful from her window sill. Now, in person, they were gorgeous. Her dad laughs at her expression.

They get in his car and Janae is feeling everything.

Janae: Are we rich?

Dad: Average, average.

He puts the keys in the ignition and drives out of the parking deck onto the main road.

Dad: Those girls who visited you on your first day here invited you to go shopping later. Please tell me you remember what shopping is?

Janae laughs.

Janae: I've haven't completely lost my mind. Just the majority.

Dad: You'll get it back. Then, everything will be alright.

Janae: How did I end up in the hospital, anyways?

Janae's dad looks down.

Dad: I didn't hear much, but what I did hear, I don't think you want to know.

Janae: You're right I don't. You're scaring me.

Dad: I don't mean to. I just want to caution you.

The rest of the car ride was silence until they pulled up to Janae's hotel.

Janae: We live in a hotel?

Dad: No, you were staying here with some friends. The Afro boy, Jacob, used to be your best friend when you were kids. You used to-

Janae: Always ride our bikes down the road and do dares and end up sick because we would do something nasty.

Dad: You remember?!?!?

Janae: Yes! But, nothing else. That's good enough right!?

Dad: Perfect! Go inside, here's your Room Key, I have to call the doctor.

Janae takes it and heads into the hotel with her bag. She's smiling from ear to ear, when she she's the boy with the braids who visited her in the hospital.

Ray: Hey Janae!

She walks up to him and awkwardly hugs him.

Ray: You gotta remember me.

Janae: UGH! I'm so tired of people asking me that.

Ray: Oh, I'm sorry. Did you want me to show you to your room?

Janae: Thanks.

Ray leads her to the elevator when Jacob comes out.

Jacob: JANAE!

He goes over and picks her up.

Janae: Hey you.

She awkwardly punched his shoulder. Even though he visited her everyday she was in the hospital, they're still awkward towards each other.

Janae goes into the elevator and Ray follows.

Janae pulls out her phone and an ideas comes into her head.

Janae: Hey, Ray is it?

Ray nods.

Janae: Can you help me identify these people in these pictures?

Ray: Yeah, yeah of course.

Janae gets closer to Ray. She pulls up a picture of her, The boys (including EJ) and the OMG Girlz.

Ray: Ahh, alright. That's Roc, me, Prince and... Then there's Bahja, Star, and Babydoll.

Janae: (points to EJ) You forgot him?

Ray looks worried then looks into her eyes.

Ray: Janae, that's the guy who put you in the hospital.

Janae gasps.

Janae: W-What's his name?

Ray: EJ.

Janae: Where is he? Is he in jail?

Ray: Yeah, don't worry about him. Just focus on getting better.

The elevator door opens and Ray leads Janae to a door with police tape on it.

Janae: I don't wanna know.

Ray: You reallt don't.

He opens the door and they step inside. Janae seems on edge and doesn't know what to comprehend. The couch is shifted, the bed has blood on it and there are shirts everywhere.

She covers her mouth and plops down on the couch. Ray sits next to her and rubs her back.

Janae: What happened?
