epigraph

"At the moment of vision, the eyes see nothing."

William Golding, The Spire

synopsis

Red Lung fills the streets with communities of half-sighted children and floods the barges with rows of the deceased. Bounty hunter Hina Ogawa is a descendant of one of its victims--a survivor who wears eye contacts with built-in user interface computer systems that project the illusion of vision upon wear. If only they had enough electricity to function twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

So when expensive twenty-four hour prototypes hit the market and a million-dollar bounty falls on Ren Watanabe's head, Hina can't help but think the world must be working in her favor after all--until the hunt takes an ugly twist for the worse.
