Nico POV:

And finally, it was my time to teach. I would be teaching Griffondors and Slytherins. I was told earlier to either keep Malfoy and Potter far away from each other or right next to each other to work through their stupid rivalry they apparently had. The other teachers warned me that Malfoy would usually start it, but since the war, I wonder if that would change.

To experiment, I put Potter right in front of my desk, Malfoy on his right, closer to me, and Corey on Harry's left. Will got to sit at my desk, because he's my 'class assistant'. I put Ginny next to Corey, since I obviously favored them. I put Hermione on the opposite side, but still in the front. I liked her most out of the trio. I also put Ron all the way in the back. For everyone else, I put them opposite of who I could tell their friends were. If I couldn't tell, I'd judge their appearance and attitude and base it off of that.

Once Harry and Co. realized that I was the one teaching, they all had this look of horror on their faces. It was priceless! Harry tried to argue that Hogwarts doesn't allow teachers to have assigned seats, but I told him that each teacher has their own rules, and that's that. needless to say, I knew he would be glaring at me the entire class time. at least he'll be paying attention. I've heard some bad things about his class participation. 

"Ok class, my name is Nico di Angelo, and I'll be teaching DADA this year. I'm also a part-time student here. but I am fully capable of teaching this specific class. as you probably noticed, someone is sitting at my desk. I'll be sharing it with him for the year. His name is William Solace, and he's going to help me teach you guys. I've heard you're all a handful. So, first I'll tell you the sum up of this year's course, then you can give me some questions  afterwards.

This year, you'll be learning how to defend yourself. You'll have to learn how to defend yourself if your wand breaks or is lost. You'll also have to face your fears, which have probably become worst since the last time you've done that test. I will accompany you in that test, because I also have to work on that. We'll be facing the bogart tomorrow, so ready yourselves. I'll go last to make sure I'm in a stable enough condition to help you if things get too out of hand. Will here, is going to not take that test, in case I need to be brought to the hospital wing. now, questions?" 

Almost everyone raised their hand. I decided to pick the 'main characters' of the school. I chose Corey first. 

"Why would you go to the hospital wing?" "because my past is known by my friends as the 'worst thing a person could ever go through, let alone survive'. My past is a very... problematic." 

Ginny next. "what's your tolerance of... bullying and what are your controversial thoughts?" I know she's trying to reference LGBT+ content and bullying because of it. "I do not tolerate any bullying of any kind. anybody who bullies will be punished as I see fit. I was put in charge of punishments, by the way. I'm the person to go to if you don't feel safe, after all, it's not defense against the dark arts for nothing. my controversial standings is that LGBT stuff is not a problem and is welcomed. transgender people should use the bathroom that they're comfortable with."

I then picked Malfoy. "Why do you favor Will so much?" "because we're close. we have some shared trauma, so it makes us closer." (he's talking about fighting in the wars and losing people).

Hermione after him "How are we supposed to defend ourselves without our wand?" "physical combat. with magical items, that can turn into knifes, guns, swords, ext. it's basically going to be working out and teaching morta- muggles self defense. except the weapons can be hidden."

Ron "can you give an example?" "sure. if you would want to fight with a sword, then you could enchant it to be a pen for example. then when you want to use it, click the pen and it turns into a sword. that kind of thing." 

Harry " how can your memories be worse than ours?! we went through a war! we lost friends! what could be worse than that?!" "who's to say that I haven't gone through the same? and you know what's worse than losing friends? losing family. which you should be fully aware of, Potter! and you all haven't don't know what happened in America! I've gone through to wars, lost many friends and family. which is what you should expect to see once I go against the bogart! I'm trying to accept my past for what it is, I suggest you do the same. Next question."

Will raised his hand. I gave him a questioning look and call on him. "I was just wondering if I can tell everyone what my role here will be. is that Ok, Neeks?" "of course, go ahead, Sunshine." people give us weird looks at the nicknames but don't comment on it.  " I just wanted everyone to know that I'll be a therapist here, the new potions teacher, and I'm also helping out in the infirmary. all the stuff that's told to me by my patients will stay confidential unless instructed otherwise. how to sign up for counseling, there will be a sign up sheet where you write down your names, but they'll disappear immediately until I can bring them into my room to read them. soon after I'll contact you when I can to decide when we can meet."
