Betrayal

Chapter VI

Guys I am so sorry for not updating. Got sidetracked with my other story. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this story.

Naruto woke up, dazed. He was wrapped up in a strait jacket and he had a chakra suppression seal on him. An elderly man with bandages over one eye was conversing with two more elderly people.

"...Touma...Itsuki...how did the jinchūriki escape..." was all that Naruto heard from the conversation. He stirred.

The three elderly people turned around to see Naruto. "You're coming with us. We must decide your punishment, jinchūriki." Danzo had such a condescending tone of voice. He made a single hand gesture and then two ANBU members came and unlocked the cell door. They grabbed him a bit roughly and shoved him along while following Danzo and the other three elders to the prison exit.

"Hm.. he still hasn't come back. Zetsu, I need you to take my eyes. I trust that you will do well in manipulating Naruto." Zetsu tore both of Madara's eyes from their sockets and stored them in a canister full of formaldehyde. "Now, Zetsu, when you retrieve Naruto, you must give him a piece of your flesh, so that my Rinnegan does not sap his life force away." Madara continued.

Zetsu nodded, "What are you going to do after that, Madara-sama?"

Madara put his hand to his mouth as he had a coughing fit, "My time has come. Even with the vitality of the Gedō Mazō, I cannot bypass my age." Madara stood up and kept walking forward. The wire that connected him to the Gedō Mazō began to stretch until it finally snapped in half.

"... you've been unlawfully released from prison and you stole the Scroll of Seals. By all rights, you are considered a traitor, and you shall be put to death." One of the elders reiterated on the laws that Naruto has broken.

Damnit.. am I really going to die here?  Naruto wasn't paying attention to what the elder was saying; he knew of what laws he had broken. Naruto wanted to take revenge on the village.

The ANBU next to him we're about to escort him back into an even higher security prison until Black Zetsu rose up from the ground and snatched Naruto from their grasp.

"Sorry, but I will need this boy for my plans.. see you later." Black Zetsu retreated back into the ground and took Naruto with him to Madara's hideout.

Naruto was not expecting to see his grandfather figure sprawled on the floor, dead. He dropped to his knees and began to bawl.

His Sharingan began to spin and it turned into a Choku Tomoe Mangekyō Sharingan, just like the one Madara had. He looked up at Black Zetsu, "Who did this?" He managed to seethe.

"He time was up, Naruto. He said that you must continue his legacy, retrieve the Bijū, and begin plan Tsuki no Me." Black Zetsu said in a comforting voice. Inwardly, he was smirking. Everything was going to plan.

"First, I will have to give you Madara's eyes."  White Zetsu came from the ground and pulled out a canister. "He entrusted these eyes to you, so use them wisely. Do you want me to give them to you now?"

Naruto nodded. White Zetsu took Naruto's left eye and replaced it with one Rinnegan.

Rinnegan manifestation has been achieved.. now we just need the Jūbi. Black Zetsu absentmindedly rubbed his hands together in anticipation and excitement. Soon mother, soon..

"Now, Naruto, in order to stop those eyes from sapping your life force away, you must consume both mine and Black Zetsu's flesh." White Zetsu held out his arm. Naruto immediately bit out a large piece of his fore arm and swallowed it. Black Zetsu held out his arm as well and Naruto consumed a part of it.

"Rest up, Naruto, because you have more training coming to you now that you have those eyes and my chakra.." White Zetsu said as Naruto began to fall asleep.

"I've failed you yet again, sensei.. I couldn't keep Obito or Rin safe, and now we've lost your only legacy." A silver-haired man was talking to a black stone with many names engraved on it. Tears fell from his eyes. He was supposed to be with his Genin team, but they could wait.

His team.. they just didn't make shinobi like they used to anymore.

He had a fragile little girl, Sakura, who only worried for her crush and her hair.

He had a kid who was socially impaired, Sai, so much so that he barely knew how to smile.

And Sasuke.. the little brother of his ANBU comrade, Itachi. Kakashi still couldn't believe that Itachi murdered his clan. He was just normal.

Because of Itachi, Sasuke became an avenger, ignoring life just to avenge his clan and kill his big brother.

Kakashi stood up; he figured that he kept his Genin team waiting long enough.
