A Couple on a Cruise

"This is awesome, Austin," I say with a smile.

"We worked toward this together," Austin replies with a smile back. "But, yeah, this is a lot of fun. I wasn't entirely sure of it at first, cruises just seem to be hotbeds for disease and really just way too expensive for not that much of pay off. Like prom, you hype it up and then it is just disappointing."

"Yeah, I wasn't entirely sold on cruises either," I reply with a smile. "But, everyone I know who's gone on one just can't stop gushing about how great it was, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I'm glad I did decide to do that."

"This has been a very interesting and romantic trip," Austin agrees with a smile. "Although we're not doing anything like this again in a long time."

"Way too expensive," I agree. "But, we don't need to do extravagant things to enjoy being with each other."

"But, while we have the opportunity," Austin says. "I wanted to ask if you wanted to go to the dance tonight?"

"Of course," I reply with a chuckle. "When will we be able to do something like this again? I'm sure it will be a lot of fun. A lot of fancy dressed people, hopefully awesome music and good hors d'oeuvre and drinks? Sounds like a great time to me."

"That's what I was thinking," he says.

"But in the meantime, I am going to go swimming," I reply. "I don't know what you want to do."

"I'm getting a bit overstimulated, I'm going to retreat to our room so that I can get my 'dealing with people' back to at least a yellow if not a green."

"Have fun," I say with a smile.

"I will," he replies with a smile.

I head to the pool as he heads back to our room. I claim a spot by the pool and take off my outer layers. Then I wade in the pool and just have some fun. I love swimming but our town doesn't have a pool, we don't have a pool so, I don't get the opportunity to swim all too often.

I spend a couple of hours in the pool before I exit and head back to our room to get ready for the dance tonight. I rinse off the chlorinated water in the shower and clean my hair before getting out and blow drying my hair. I brush it and tame it into a not too fancy do but not your normal day do either. I exit the bathroom and get my dress and shoes out and get changed into them before sitting down and doing my makeup.

"You look lovely," Austin says as he comes to peck me on the cheek.

"Thank you," I reply with a smile. "You look lovely as well."

"Shall we go?"

"Let's," I reply with a smile.

We go to the dance, have fun and it's a great time. Unlike all of my high school dances because those I hyped up so they could never like up to the hype so they were always a disappointment. This I had no idea what to expect or time to hype it up so it was amazing.

This entire trip has been amazing really. It was a great time with Austin.
