"It is so quiet here, there are hardly any walkers," Carl said from the seat behind us,

"I know, but keep your eyes peeled." I reminded him as we rolled to a stop in front of the local Radio Shack. Getting out of the car I unclipped the gun and knife holster before approaching the shop. Tapping on the window while Carl and Rosita were acting as lookouts I waited a few minutes to ensure there were no walkers inside.

After a few minutes, one male walker started pounding on the window, so opening up the door slightly I waited until he had his head in the crack before stabbing him through the skull with the bowie knife in my hand. Pulling the door open I dragged the decaying corpse away from the door and signaled the coast was clear to my companions.

"Carl stay by the door, if you see any walkers give us a nudge. Rosita I need the following." Giving her a list I watched as she disappeared into the back of the shop while I worked on looking for what I needed in the front.

"What are you looking for Kenzie?" Carl asked while he kept an eye on the street outside.

"Anything so I can get a working CCTV system up and running," I said to him as I filled my backpack with all the stuff we needed. "I want to clear as much of this shop as possible." Once my bag is full I took a quick look out of the window to see that the street was still empty of walkers before I quickly made a dash to the car to put the first bag in. Grabbing another one I ran back to the shop and inside.

"It is so quiet here, do you think anyone is living here?" Rosita asked as she also made a quick run to the car. Once she was back inside I answered her question.

"It's not very well protected, the boundaries are wide open for walkers to come in," I said looking out of the shop window as I saw what appeared to be a lone walker on the street. Clearing the shop with as much as our bags could carry we quickly head back to the car. I noticed the lone walker was still a distance in the way so I made a split decision when I saw the clothes store opposite the Radio shack. Signally to the others we quickly locked the car and made our way towards the little boutique.

Again I knocked on the window and wait for any more walkers to appear, luckily there was no movement from inside the shop so we quickly entered. Once again leaving Carl to guard the entrance.

"This place is untouched, I wonder what other shops are like this?" Rosita asked as she started filling a woven shopping basket with clothes.

"I don't know; but I'm going to have to bring the van here in the future, it's very rare to find a town that hasn't been looted," I remarked also filling a basket with lots of kids clothes. Walking to the back of the shop I saw a whole section of leather jackets. There was one there with a motorbike signia on the back, so looking for both mine and Daryl's sizes I picked two up and put them in the basket. Just as I'm about to go towards the front of the shop I heard moans coming from outside. Walking past us is a herd of about 50 walkers. "Shit. Carl slip the lock on the door and get down out of the way of the windows." As he does, Rosita and I crouched underneath the glass pane and hoped the walkers don't decide to come close to the shop. Pulling out my walkie talkie I pressed the talk button, making sure the earpiece is plugged in so we don't alert the herd walking outside.

"Red leader it's Kenzie come in." Waiting for the reply I quickly poked my head up to see the herd had stopped moving outside.

"Red leader, Kenzie where are you?"

"Rick we are pinned down about 5 miles from Alexandria, there is a herd of walkers on the street."

"How many we talking about?" He asked me,

"About 50 heads. We are going to hunker down here until they clear out. Be warned the road is a straight shot to Alexandria, if they move from here they will be coming straight towards you."
