Chapter 4: A Long way from home

The Delphi sat down in the cushions close to me as she told me about the prophecy that she had foreseen.

"In my visions, Apollo wed a child of light the bearer of the book of heavens, he then will possess the might of a Titan" She spoke to me.

"...and you think it's me?"

"It is you"

I laid down on the cushions and closed my eyes. How can I ever believe this? I, Rowan Morgenstein a demi-god and my mother is the goddess of rainbows, mistress to Helios? And on top of that, I am the bride of Apollo? How? If someone tells you about this you will think they are bat-crazy!

"Don't you believe it?"

I don't know if I will believe it or not. My logic tells me that these are lies but how can I explain being transported here from the mansion?

"I'll listen to what you are going to say first..." I told The Delphi.

"A demi-god born from a winged goddess will bring peace or destruction in the land of gods for only she will bring forth the book of heavens"

"But it might be talking about someone else" I pointed that out.

"It could be...however the only winged goddess that has a demi-god for a child is Iris" she replied. "...do you believe us now?"

"Not that I do...but I want to get things straight, my mother doesn't have wings and we do not have the book of heavens"

"The book of heavens will only appear where you least expect it and it will appear when the bearer is near"

Least expect? How can I get a book out of nowhere? Until I realized something, the book I saw in the library, it has strange markings and it moved towards my hand as if was written on my skin. I suddenly stood up! Delphi was looking at me confused about my actions.

"I need to go somewhere"

"Where?"

"The library..."

"Library?" The Delphi smiled and said, "...did the book reveal itself to you?"

"It did"

The Delphi smiled as if she was right all along "The bride of Apollo..is really you!"

She stood up placing her hands on her waist "Then what are you waiting for? Let's go!"

"How can we go there from here?"

The Delphi walked outside and I followed her behind her humble home into a narrow road. The road is filled with fog as we walked deeper, The Delphi stopped and raised her hands. She muttered something and a bright light suddenly appeared like a rotating golden spark!

I grasped unable to process what is happening, there is a golden portal in front of me! I nearly fainted on the sight of it.

The Delphi turned to face me with her smug expression "Now, do you believe?"

I nodded slightly. How can I not believe now?

"You need to walk inside the portal then you need to think of the image where you want to go and it will take you there" She instructed me.

"What if they would know I went outside?" I asked her nervously.

"Don't worry about it" She winked at me "Apollo...will be happy to get his hands on the book"

"What is that book anyway? Why is it so important?" I asked her.

"Hmmm... Um...oh! The gateway is about to close you better go now!" The Delphi shoved me inside the glowing portal as I raised my hands protectively of myself, I closed my eyes fearing of what will happen as I stepped inside the portal, I can feel a cool breeze hitting my whole body then it stopped.
