We were children searching for the freedoms we had always desired. With each passing year we prayed to be years older than we really were. We were too excited for the freedom we believed aging would bring us.
As I've grown older, I've realized that freedom isn't about a lack of rules; it's something more. Freedom is the feeling you get when you're driving, and the wind is blowing through your hair. It's the feeling of getting lost and finding yourself all over again. It's the feeling of running carelessly through the streets feeling the breeze blow all of your troubles away. It is the sensation you experienced sitting on the roof and watching the sunrise. We spent years chasing freedom when all we needed was to let go. From within ourselves comes freedom.
