you are the universe -
vast, unexplored, beautiful.
you can make even the most
robotic mouths smile
and begin spouting
sparkling poetry
(regardless of how bad it is).
you are constellations
and solitary stars
and planets pirouetting
on their secret orbits.
you are swirling masses
of curling matter.
you are collapsing suns
and explosions of birth.
you are forever, eternally
reaching to the edges of
somewhere in the middle
of nowhere, reaching
with nighttime fingers
and burning palms,
reaching with your
blackhole eyes and endless
stardust smiles.
you are the universe,
and i am but a little atom,
caught up in your
soft, soft embraces
and fiery hair
and frozen feet,
and wondering how i got here,
but never wanting to leave.
