straighten your spine.
can you hear them?
their scream, their cry,
fists raised in fury.open your mind.
unlock the cage and see
what lies within
these boundaries.can you see them?
the way their mouths
rip seams in their faces.dark faces. pale faces.
watch these different races
stand with each other
against history and time.open your eyes.
stretch your mouth wide.the fire doesn't burn alone:
it needs kindling and
we shall provide.love is not a reason to hate.
biology will never dictate
who has rights and who does not.even if you cannot stand,
roll with your wheelchairs,
your crutches,
into the battle. your minds
that are mocked
are stronger than they think.if you look to the skies,
searching for your god.
or if you turn to science,
to fact, you can stand.scars and broken bones.
sad or truly happy.
faithful or without faith.all should be hopeful,
for in this walled world
there is a reason to live.straighten your spine.
open your mind.
open your eyes.
stretch your mouth wide.stand with pride.
