She looks so, dead
Her sad eyes just stared at the floor, pain swarming inside of them. Her normally perfect, curly hair was in knots and looked like it hasn't been taken care of in days. Even through the phone I could see the dark circles under her eyes, her freckles looking bland and pale.
Something is seriously wrong
Where is the loving girl that I know? The one who is always smiling, always teasing me? She always made me smile, but now, she's gone.
And so is my smile.
No.
If she was my happiness in my dark times, I'll be hers.
She likes, music. Yes she loves it.
Then what song?
What's her favorite song?
I wrecked my brain for the answer, then suddenly it popped up.
"The sun goes down, the stars come out. And all that counts, is here and now. My universe will never be the same. I'm glad you came." I sang softly, hoping it would be okay if the song was slowed down to a gentle pace.
"You cast a spell on me spell on me. You hit me like the sky fell on me, fell on me. And I decided you look well on me, well on me. So let's go somewhere no one else can see you and me." Theodora sang softly with me, still staring at the ground.
"Turn the lights out now. Now I'll take you by the hand. Hand you another drink. Drink it if you can. Can you spend a little time. Time is slipping away, away from us so stay. Stay with me I can make, make you glad you came." I sang solo by myself as Theodora lifted her eyes up so she could see mine.
The pain in her eyes slowly disappeared, leaving her eyes to go back to normal, to have the same sparkle in them. There was barely a sparkle, but it was there.
I did it. I made her eyes happy again.
"The sun goes down, the stars come out. And all that counts, is here and now. My universe will never be the same. I'm glad you came." Theodora smiled softly as she sang the song herself, a proud smile creeping up on my lips as well
(So I know this is a really old song. It's called Glad You Came. This is set back a couple of years ago so yeah)
We both stopped singing after the verse, and we just stared at each other, smiles on our faces, and our eyes never leaving each other.
I was the first to break. Sighing, I adjusted my position. "I believe there is one more gift."
Theodora's eyes blinked quickly and she nodded, picking up the scissors once more and opened the final box.
She smiled slightly and picked up the smaller box inside of it. Not a cardboard one, but a jewelry one.
Her bottom lip stuck out after she opened the box, and looked back up at me. "Tae, it's beautiful."
It's nothing compared to you.
"I'm glad you like it." I smiled, studying her face. "Put it on!"
"Theo!" A loud, screechy voice screamed from her side of the camera. Theo dropped the necklace in surprise and quickly ended our call.
I stared at the black screen, completely in shock.
Theodora
I barely even blinked before my mom was in my room, carrying quiet a big rock. Without any warning, she threw it right at me, the rock hitting my right arm, making a gash in it.
"I found this in the field!!!" She screamed at me, but luckily not moving towards me anymore. "Pick up after yourself bitch!"
Daegu began to run after her, his teeth bared. My mom scoffed and kicked him, his back slamming against the wall, a yelp escaping his lips.
My mom slammed the door as I crawled towards Daegu, us both crying.
"Shh, Shh." My voice shook as I held the whimpering dog in my arms, my hand shaking as I stroked his head. "You're okay. I'm here. I'm here."
I watched as my phone lit up, Tae texting me several times, asking what's wrong and if I'm okay. Daegu has stopped whimpering and nudged my bleeding arm, his eyes wide. I took a deep breath and looked up at the door. "I'm too scared to go to the bathroom. She might hit me again."
Daegu slowly left my arms and sniffed my necklace on the ground. More tears fell from my eyes as I leaned forward and picked up the necklace. "God Tae I wish you were here."
Taehyung
Come on. Answer
Theodora looked terrified right as she ended our call. And she's freaking me out.
Taehyung
Are you okay Theodora? What's going on?That was the 13th time I've texted her, yet no response.
Is something happening that she hasn't told me about?
Should I ask her about it?
I don't even know-
She was calling me! My phone vibrated for maybe a second before I answered, my heart pounding.
"Theodora!" I answered, relieved and concerned. She looked down, my necklace in her hands and eyes refusing to look at me.
"Tae, can you talk with me?"
"O-Of course."
