close is one word people would describe yours and diego's friendship. inseparable was a better word to describe it.

the story about how you guys met was small and simple but a huge moment and your lives.

You were on your way to Griddy's, when running into a boy your age. You were 13 at the time and did not belong outside at that time. You apologized over and over but he always said you were fine. He took you to the doughnut shop with him, and talked all night.

And ever since then, you two were the bestest of friends. His siblings would swear up and down you two had feelings for each other, which you do, but you would never admit it to them.

You were at your house, babysitting your little brother, when you heard a knock at the door. You stood up at went over to the noise.

"Hey (y/n). I know I didn't call, but I brought food so, is it okay?" Diego said as you opened the door. Laughing you nodded.

"It's fine, I have my brother over so, hopefully there's enough food there to feed him too." You replied, taking the bag from his hands.

"Brother?"

"Oh yeah. His name is Owen, he's 10. And Diego, he has a speaking problem, don't point it out. He doesn't talk much but when he does, it shows, and he's very insecure about it, so please, don't point it out." You say, then letting Diego in. Making your way over to the couch, Owen looks up at the man.

"Owen this is Diego, my friend. He brought food, want some?" Owen smiles and stands up from the coffee table. You hand him a thing of chicken and you grab your favorite food from the bag.

"So, how are things?" you smile at the question. Looking beside you at the man starring back at you.

"Things are fine, my mom has work and dropped the boy off to hang with the best sibling he has!" You say looking over at Owen. He looks back at you and smiles.

"Y-y-your the-the only si-sibling I ha-have." Owen stutters, the smile still plastered on his face. You giggle and look back at Diego.

He has his mouth gapped, looking at your brother. "Diego?" You attempt to get his attention. He looks at you closing his mouth. "I said don't point it out." Whispering. he nods his head and looks down.

Owen comes over with a book and you put down your food. He sits in between you and Diego and opens the book. "D-Dog." He says, pointing at the word. You nod and flip the page. "B-B." He struggles.

"Close your eyes and picture the word in your head." Diego says. You look at him with a confused look. Diego never really brought up his past before you guys met. His stutter was never brought up, and he made sure of it.

"Bring." Owen said. Your smile widen as Owen gave Diego a huge hug. It wasn't until one hour later when your mom came by to pick up the younger sibling. Owen turned and gave you one last huge, giving Diego a hug as well. "Thank you, D-Diego." Owen said before he ran to your mom.

You looked at Diego and slap his chest when the door closed, obviously angry. He backed up putting his hands up. "Wh-, How did you, Diego what the-"

"Shush. I had a stutter growing up, Grace helped me with it. Nothing special." He grumbled. You slowly went over to him, looking him dead in the eyes.

"Thank you. I've been trying for five years." He smiles and put a hand on your waist, being you closer.

"Not a problem. Just invite me over when he's here." He laughed. You smiled and cupped his cheeks with your hands. You both leaned in until your lips collided.
