We walked out of school and over to where Evan kept his skateboard.

"Listen- I'll be fine. I'm scared but I've heard nothing but great things. And if they're anything like you are, they are probably really cool. I think you are the nervous one."
He said with his cute lil giggle and slightly pushing my shoulder.
I scoffed. "As if! I'm not nervous!"
We flared at each other.
"Okay I'm terrified."

We reached my front door.
"Do you really think they won't like me?"
"I think they'll love you. I mean they better love you."

I opened the door and let him into our living room. Only to see Andrew and Shane sprawled our on the couch in an editing trance.
"Hey guys."
Their heads snapped up and stared at us both.
And they kept staring.
"Okay ummm. We'll be in my room."
I started to sprint up the stairs when I realized he wasn't next to me.
Evan was waving at them.
"Hi I'm Evan."
I fast walked over to him and pulled him up the stairs and ran into my room.
"DOOR OPEN!" (3 inches 😔)
"YES DAD!"
"Yikes."
"That was not terrible but not great."
"Okay whatever let's eat candy."
"Yes sir the stash is in my top drawer."
We ate snacks and played Minecraft for two hours until I heard my door creak a bit.
"Hi dad."
"Hi.. can you tell me why Shane is kinda mad?"
"Well it's his fault he didn't want to talk to Evan. He even introduced himself."
"Oh. He's being overprotective. Sorry guys. He'll be fine."
"Okay thanks love you."

Eventually Evan had to go home.

"Of course. See you soon." He kisses my cheek and skated off.

I went inside to see Shane actually awake.
"Hey I'm sorry about the stare down earlier. He seems like a good kid."
"That's okay. He says he's sorry."
"For what?"
"He said he think he made you mad."
"Haha okay. Goodnight."
