"Where are they?" I heard Stiles say behind Lydia and I.

Lydia was shaking and I was trying to hold myself together.

"Over here," Allison bit her lip, coming towards us.

"It's the same thing. Same thing as the pool. I got into the car heading somewhere totally different, and ended up here. And you told me to call you if there's a dead body," Lydia sobbed.

"You guys found a dead body?" Stiles raised his eyebrows.

"Not yet," I growled.

"'Not yet'? What do you mean 'Not yet'?Lydia, you're supposed to call us after you find the dead body," Stiles shook his head.

"Oh no," Lydia shook her head, "I'm not going that again. You can find the dead body from now on."

Stiles ran a hand through his hair.

"How are we supposed to find the dead body?" I started to walk away with Scott. "You're always the one finding the dead body."

"We found the dead body," Scott pointed out.

There was a deputy, bloodied, hanging over the school sign. Her blood splattered over the sign just gave me the chills, sending this form of failure through my body. I couldn't watch her dead body as my memory resorted back to Boyd and Erica. Stiles started to dial someone- most likely his dad. I could feel the sinking feeling in my body again, the feeling in the pit of my stomach making it uncomfortable to stand still.

I started pacing back and forth, my anxiety feeling high. It felt the same way with Boyd, but his was more emotional. I was on the verge of crying, my body shaking. I was away from the group as I had my meltdown, finding myself in the school.

"Kayla Edwards," I heard a woman with a smirk in her voice. "Who would've thought you would be the one to be a black dog."

I froze.

"W-What do you m-mean?" I stuttered like I always do when I lied.

"Oh please," she laughed, "I know all about you and your pack."

It was my English teacher, Ms. Blake.

"What do you want me to do to keep you quiet?" I snarled.

She narrowed her eyes at me in the dark.

"I need your help," she began.

"With what?" I had a feeling I wasn't going to like it.

"I'll keep you safe during the eclipse, remain you. Only," she paused, "if you defend me. You keep me safe and I won't hurt any of your little friends."

I heard the police sirens blaring in the distance.

"Do you agree?" she grabbed me by my jaw, shaking my head with fury.

I didn't give it a second thought.

"Yes. Don't touch them and I'll agree," I growled.

"Good then," she let me go, swiping her hands together. "I have to go."

She ran down the hallway, her heels clicking and echoing down the corridor. I stood there for a few minutes, staring as the sounds of her heels still ringing in my head.

"Kayla?" I heard Stiles's dad come from behind me. "Kayla," he shook me.

"Dad!" Stiles screamed as he saw me in his dad's arms. "Kayla?"

I snapped out of it.

"What?" I tried to coverup what had just happened.

"Kayla," he felt a sense of relief as soon as I responded to him. "Kayla we were worried about you."

His fingers did that weird shaking thing as he embraced my body with distraught.

"Stiles," his dad interrupted, "I've got the FBI coming in on this. You two need to leave."

"FBI? What's going on?" I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Haven't you heard about the murders?" Stiles's dad questioned.

"Barely," I shrugged my shoulders.

"Are they sheltering you or something? I'm sure I can have my son fix that and if he can't I will," he winked at me.

I laughed in Stiles's arms.

"Get out of here," he laughed lightly. "I've got some paperwork to fill out."

I went to school the following day, ignoring the views from the people that were questioning my many absences. Natalie and Anna were in school now and I noticed the twins were here too.

"You have one class with both of the twins," Scott whispered in my ear. "Either Lydia, Allison, Stiles, or I are in every single one of your classes. I'm not sure about your sisters, but we'll find out."

I nodded.

I was headed to English when I felt my body tense up. Scott noticed this and pulled me aside, looking straight at me.

"What's wrong?" he squeezed his eyebrows together.

"N-nothing," I stuttered.

"Kayla," he narrowed his eyes at me. "What's wrong?"

"I'll scream," I threatened.

"No you won't," his eyes glowed.

"Scott!" I slapped his arm. "Leave me alone."

"What's wrong?" he urged me forward.

I had to think fast.

"W-when I was walking," I paused. "I-I got my period, okay?"

Good save.

"Oh- uh yeah okay. Why don't you- uh- head to the bathroom then," he scratched the back of his neck, leaving me alone.
