It was a long, transcendental drive as the team coasted along the road, the sunset casting on their bikes and as they headed toward's the city for the big race. The evening of the big race was finally here, and everyone was excited but also nervous about it. When they got to the Firestar night club, the Mavericks crew members were already waiting for them at the building, leaning against their bikes, watching them carefully. There were five of them.

Junmyeon get off of his bike and approaches them. The exterior of the club was decorated with lights and a fire red orange glow, spelled, 'Firestar'.

"Welcome, Lone Wolves!" One of the competitive bikers greeted Junmyeon, with a warm smug on his face. "Thank you, Taemin." Junmyeon greeted back. Sehun was surprised to know that was Taemin, the leader of the Mavericks. He didn't expect the guy to look so young. Let me introduce you to my team. He gestured at the other four who waved at everyone.

"That's Minho, Ten, Ravi and Hendery." After their leader introduced them, everyone exchanged respectful bows and greeted themselves.

"Sehun, I've heard a lot about you." Taemin grinned as he approached him. "I see that you are new but you've managed to escalade to the top racer in a short time. That's impressive."

"I'm also impressed that someone as young as yourself is the leader of this great biker club."

"I have been told that a lot. I'm sure you're familiar with hyungs picking on you and setting low expectations. I had to earn a lot of respect to get to the position that I am in now." Taemin shoots Sehun another soft smile, and Sehun shrugs. At least he wasn't a total ass.

"Let's show you guys the race track." Taemin puts his helmet on and gets on his bike, and leads everyone to the back of the night club. There were muffled club music and chatter inside, but also behind the club was a race track, with half of the stadium filled with some who heard about the race. Nervousness began to creep up in Sehun's body again. This was the first time he will actually get to race in front of people, even in a race course like this. It was clean gravel, and spacious. He shook his self consciousness, looking at Chanyeol who also looked wide eyed as he peeked around the building to see people sitting down, waiting for something. Some who sat at the bleachers, started cheering as they heard the motorcycle engines and making an appearance. When they got to the start of the track, Sehun started to have that nervousness again, the loud cheers from the crowd was out noised by the pulses in his brain and thumping in his heart.

"Okay pick your three racers." Junmyeon said as Minseok and Sehun began to slowly drive up before the start line.

"I choose," he said thoughtfully, looking back at his crew members. "Myself, Ten and Minho."

"Sehun, Jongin and Minseok."

Sehun shot a puzzled look at the leader. Was it really a good idea not to include himself in the race?

"Interesting," Taemin murmured, grinning. Sehun started to become annoyed at this guy's friendliness. He wanted to wipe that smirk off of his face with a win. He couldn't back down now, and definitely couldn't disappoint himself or Junmyeon.

Moments later, everyone gathered around the course.

Sehun knew this adrenaline rush all too well when he heard Jongin and the competitors rev their bike engines to prep for a the race. Sehun kept his eyes focused on Kai, giving him a small pep talk since Jongin is the start of the tag race.

Jongin didn't say anything, just focused on the race track, observing the oblong graveled curves. Sehun just had one lap, but most importantly the last lap to finish the race. Sehun casually leaned on the bike, flexing his fingers and stretching himself to shake off his nerves. He studied the Mavericks. They looked confident. Very confident, and maybe the smug on their faces was just a tactic to bluff their opponents.

"Five..."

Anxiety pulsed through his veins and couldn't wait for this race to finally start.

Jongin, the race is in your hands for now, he thought.

"Four... three..."

Jongin revs his engine louder, confidently smirking at Sehun, to reassure him that he is ready.

"Two..."

"One... GO!" A flag waved down. Before Sehun could blink, Jongin took off alongside Minho.

"Go, go go!" Junmyeon shouted urgently. Jongin did a slight turn to block Minho from passing him up. This made Minho very angry as he started to rank up his speed, getting closer to Jongin's hind motorcycle wheel and started to sway left to right, Jongin also blocking every turn Minho attempted to throw at him.

"Just keep the lead a little longer," Sehun said under his gritted teeth, starting to feel him sweat into his helmet. When Minho flaked a turn, Jongin felt for it and turned to the left, expecting to block his pass, but Minho sharp shoot past him, now being in the lead.

But Jongin didn't give up, ranking up his speed to catch up, but also staying cautious of his balance. Just by a hair, Minho beat Jongin and then it was Taemin's turn to race. Minseok, quickly reacting, following behind him.

Sehun started to rev his engine, preparing as the racers came quickly around the course. His palms sweating underneath his gloves as he gripped on the handle bars. He couldn't believe how quickly Taemin shot through this lap, Minseok a few meters behind him. When Minseok seem as though he was catching up, Taemin increased his speed, swaying side to side to block Minseok's attempted passes. Minseok gaping the distance farther and farther between them.

"Shit! Come on Minseok!" Junmyeon yelled, as Minseok frowned in defeat, but also doing his best to catch up to the young competitor.

As soon as Taemin finished his lap, Sehun felt the souring anxiety in his gut. Minseok a few seconds after passed Sehun and Sehun took off as if his life depended on it. He clenched harder on his handlebars, the bike roaring load going at a ridiculous speed. Getting closer and closer to his competitor, closely watching Ten's bike movements.

If I could just fake a turn and he falls for it, I have a better winning chance. Sehun began to lean his weight to the side, turning his wheel as if he was turning right. Ten responding, trying to block Sehun's flake attempt. But Sehun shot past him on the left side quickly, now both of them side by side of each other. It was a reckless move as he felt his handle bars swivel at the speed turn, but he remembered to keep his balance just as he practiced.

Sehun felt eyes on him, but he didn't turn to look. He focused on the long roundabout towards the finish line. Closer and closer, and suddenly...

CRASH!
