"wake up love..."
"my head.. its killing me."
" I have some news for you."
The tone in Ed's voice alerted a hint of sadness. So I sat up.
"Good morning, Ed."
"Good morning, would you like some ice for your head?"
I stared at him. He wanted to say something. He just didn't know how.
"I know something is wrong, what is it?"
His face dropped the happy facade and suddenly turned somber.
He walked next to my bed and sat down on the wooden chair that was next to me.
He reached for my hand and gently squeezed it.
"Serenity... I, I tried. I tried everything in my power to help you. But, the cancer has progressed further the into the brain. We can't operate on this... I tried. I'm so sorry."
Silence.
I couldn't bring myself to react.
I tried moving, speaking, anything. Nothing happened. It was like my whole world was just flipped upside down.
"Serenity... say something... anything.. please.."
"..."
I opened my mouth to speak but nothing came out.
I looked over at Ed when I felt a wetness on my hand. Tears were falling from his eyes, his shoulders were shaking in silent sobs.
"Ed.."
He looked up, his eyes were glossy from his tears. His eyes were full of pain.
I sighed with sympathy. He was so sensitive. He was taking this harder than I was. He had tried so hard and failed.
"Ed, it's fine.."
A small smile graced my lips, although I was screaming inside. Terrified. I didn't want to die.
"Sometimes things aren't meant to be saved."
I slowly got up.
"Where are you going?"
"... for a walk. I have to visit some people before I-"
"Dont. Dont say it, serenity. Here, ill get your coat."
"Thank you."
I slipped on my shoes and smiled one last time at Ed before I closed the door. The air was cold and crisp, a perfect winter morning.
A light blanket of snow on the ground crunched and crackled as I walked across the surface.
Death.
Sometimes it was painful, sometimes it was beautiful. I wonder what my death would be like. Would anyone be there? Would I be alone?
The heels of my boots tapped along the pavement silently as I walked through the quiet sleeping town.
I wonder how Harry and Louis are doing. They probably gave up by now. Good, I dont want them to waste their life on someone who's about to lose theirs.
I sighed, the sensation of burning behind my eyelids alerted me that I was about to cry but I blinked them away. There was no point in crying. It was hopeless. What would crying do?
Two figures wrapped in coats turned the corner, walking the same way as I, their breath could be seen in the air.
As I got closer, I began to slow down.
'No way..'
Harry's point of view
Louis was quietly talking to me as we walked down the street, toward the mans last known location. I happened to look up and saw a woman walking toward us, she was wrapped in a black coat, as we got closer I noticed something very familiar about the woman. Then I stopped completely. Louis, noticing my lack of movement, turned around and looked at me with a raised brow.
"What are you doing Styles?"
My eyes clashed with her suprised ones. I slowly pointed at her, my mouth hung open.
Louis frowned and turned around, his eyes widening as Serenity's eyes met his for the first time in 6 months.
"Serenity??!"
He began running toward her, I followed suit.
Serenity! We finally found you!
