We stared at the glowing numbers. 12:43. Soon, the light will open. Soon it'll start. 12:46. It's time. The light shined behind us. We stared closer at the numbers as the light came closer. We heard screaming and someone being dragged away but we kept staring at the numbers. We huddled closer as the light left. 12:50. Someone grabbed my hand as someone laid across my lap. I leaned my back against someone and looked away from the numbers. I stared into the darkness. Some of us were there. They wanted to come back and see the numbers. One of us ran to where the light comes from, looked at the ground, and screamed. The light came back. The screaming stopped. The numbers blinked. 1:00. We stared. 1:23. We stared. 1:31. The light was back. But it didn't go away.
