(Sorry for any typos, I'm still reworking and editing this story. Parts 2-3 will be available next week)
Chapter:1
Rain poured down from the sky in thick heavy waves. Visibility was down to only a few feet. Nina suddenly regretted going to the OneStop Corner Store. It was barely misting outside when she had left her apartment 5 minutes ago. But the moment she stepped inside the sky opened up, and it came with a clap of thunder of thunder that shook the shop windows.
"Shit." She cursed juggling the queso dip and pint of vanilla ice cream under the same arm. Once she got the two items balanced securely the large family sized bag of tortilla chips under her other arm hit the floor. "Fuck....come on."
Instead of immediately picking up the chips she dropped off her five items off at the register and then rushed back to get the fallen snack.
"Wow it's really coming down out there." Hal, the 53 year old store owner said from behind the counter, dusting crumbs from his powdered donut out of his thick black mustache.
"I know. Man I hope I rolled my window up." Nina whined trying to get a good view of her car from the window. She cursed herself again, almost certain that her driver side window was down. "Son of a bitch." She murmured to herself.
"Maybe you should wait until it clears up a bit out there. You can barely drive straight on a sunny day." He joked.
"Screw you Halbert." She chucked using his full name knowing it would irritate him and just to add a little bit more of a sting to her reply she put an extra emphasis on the H in Halbert.
"I love you too darling." He huffed with a half smile. They had known each other for years and this was all part of their regular conversation on a daily basis.
Nina went to the counter and put down her stash of goodies and pulled out her wallet, keeping one eye on the raging storm outside.
"$27.50."
"Damn, for this?"
"Don't look so surprised it's the same price it was last week when bought this crap."
She wanted to argue but knew he was right and just nodded her head in reluctant agreement. She swiped her credit card and watched two people come running into the store trying to escape the rain. The rain that was about to charge into.
"Alright, say a prayer for me Hal." She said grabbing her bag and heading toward the glass doors.
"I already am. Drive safe."
Nina shot him a quick nervous smile and darted out the door. Arctic cold rain splashed and showered her. The heavy gust of wind nearly knocked her over. She hadn't prepared herself for any of it. The wind was ridiculous and the freezing temperature of the water was jarring.
Fumbling with her keys she finally got inside her car. An Oldsmobile that was well over 30 years old. But it was Nina's baby and she was taking somewhat decent care of it. She had just gotten it upholstered and a brand new deep purple paint job, to cover up the hideous blue paint that was once there. As soon as her butt touched the seat she immediately raised her cheeks and cursed. The seat was soaked and now, so was her ass. Holding on to the steering wheel for leverage, she grabbed some napkins from the glove compartment and threw them down in her seat. Slowly she eased her plump buns back onto the seat, the napkins were pointless, they were completed saturated just like her entire backside. She rolled up the window giving the glass a hateful glare as if it was the windows fault that wasn't rolled up securely.
