A few years later, ten maybe, Maddie walks into the park by her old high school where the reunion was being held. Her tightly packed curls were bouncing with each step she took in her flats. Maddie couldn't stand heels, so flats were the next best think she could match with her outfit. Her light washed jeans and pale pink colored tank made her look taller and more sophisticated. She looked around searching for that one person, while greeting many. Joshua.

Josh peeked his head around the tree that stood in front of him, watching her walk by with a smile that greeted everyone warmly. She glanced over at him and waved shyly. They kept in contact, but with work getting in the way of everything, they haven't met up since the break up.

Maddie took his advice of getting a new personality, and made her own new and improved one. Honestly, she realized she was a bitch sometimes and she wanted to change that, for Kenzie's sake. Since that very day, things were awkward but the two made due. Kenzie released information on Maddie to Paige, who gave it to Josh.

Maddie strolled her way over to Josh and hugged him. For the first time in ten years, she felt safe in someone's arms. She had two boyfriends after Josh, but none have her the same love he did. "I've missed you Maddie. You look so beautiful." He said, his lips dripping with kindness. "As to you Hyland." She giggled and released him from her grasp.

"I can't believe how tall you've gotten. Seems like yesterday you were only 5'8." He stated, putting his arm around her like they'd been dating for all these years. "Oh Hyland. That was ten years ago." She smiles and a blush creeps onto her cheeks. "Maybe after the reunion is over we could go out and get drinks, have a night on the town, catch up?" Josh says, and for the first time he grabs her hand and slides his thumb across it.

"Who says we can't leave now?" Maddie laughs and grasps his hand in hers slowly. He nods and walks out, saying goodbye to people as they leave. A night on the town may be enough to catch up for a little, but what about all the years they stopped being close?
