For my father had just died and
There I was trying to put on an act to not cry but the more I resisted the tears the more they came.

He left me, a 16-year-old girl to run his billion-dollar company when I reached the age of 18 and a will of 30 million dollars that I would inherit at the age of 18.

Most children would've been happy,
Most children would've been excited
but I'm not most children, I never wanted to be rich, I wanted to be a normal child growing up and not "a spoiled brat."

That's why I decided to ask my mother if I could switch schools. Luckily she was okay with it.

One of the downsides of being the daughter of a multimillionaire is you never really know who your real friends are, You know who would be there when you're at your highest but you never know who will be there when you're at your lowest.

So this year I promised myself that I wouldn't be that rich spoilt brat. This year I would finally get to be a normal student at a new school.

First day of Your New School

There I was biting my nails until there was none left, pacing up and down in my bedroom,   Anxious about my first day, wondering if people will like me not for my money but for me.

As I was second-guessing my idea of pretending to not be rich, My mother saw me took my hand and said,

"There is no need to be scared my dare everyone is going to love you."

I smiled and just like that my confidence was restored and was now very eager to get to school.

Rapidly I ate my breakfast, brushed my teeth and wore a studious outfit and was now ready for school.

After minutes of driving we finally arrived at my new school, my mom told me goodbye and off she went.
As I entered the school gate, I felt like all eyes were on me and I wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing.

Then I saw someone I thought I would have never seen again.
My old best friend Emma,

I ran towards her with the brightest smile on my face, I tapped her on the shoulder and said heyy in the happiest voice ever.

She turned around and said Amira? but before saying that she looked at me from head to toe. Then a few seconds later she laughed and said what are you wearing?

(You see back then we were the school's mean rich girls,
Every day we would be matching in a different outfit that would cost over $2000.00.
So seeing me in an outfit that's under $100 would've been a shock to her
Even with the tough act and the bullying I always thought we were really best friends.)

That's why my face went from happy to sad real quick, but I wanted to know what she would say if she thought I was poor so I decided to say,

"I have very little clothes and this was the only thing I could find on such short notice"

Emma: "ohh," she said with an embarrassed look on her face.
then she sighed and said "look I'm rich and popular and I can't have people like you pulling me down, I'm sorry but I have to go"

I could've heard giggles and laughter coming from the other students so I quickly ran away before they could've seen my tears. I finally found the bathroom and then I began to cry, A girl followed me in and asked,
"Are you okay?
