Class 3, Death Note High School...
"Hey, failure—I mean, Scheepy." A voice called out to Schemichael, removing him from the dark inner corner in his own mind and making him look up to see who was interrupting his beauty sleep.
The moment he saw the horrifying eyeliner mixtures of purple and black which he was pretty damn sure weren't supposed to be combined in the first place, he instantly knew who it was.
"Tell me, Joseph. Why have you interrupted my beauty sleep? You know I barely got any rest from yesterday's organization meeting." He practically groaned.
He waved around his finger, looking like an emo fairy godmother, declaring, "I challenge you to a duel!"
"Isn't this like the 10th time you challenged me to a game this week?"
"Hmph. I assume this translates to a concession from you and an admission of my superiority?" Joseph inquired, with stars in his eyes as if a double rainbow was in front of him.
"I don't know how refusing to duel is equivalent to admitting inferiority, if I'm being honest."
"That's because deep down, you know it's true! You just don't want to admit it, especially to me." He puffed his chest out, trying to emulate at least a miniscule amount of masculinity. Key word, trying to.
"Sure..." Scheepy rolled his eyes. "Go back to your seat please. I don't want the new teacher to get any wrong ideas when he sees you standing and talking to me."
Joseph obliged, yet not before saying, "I'm warning you, Scheepy. This isn't finished yet..."
When it does, please slap me so I'll know if I'm dreaming or not. Scheepy thought. Still, I do admire his dynamism. Could've used that during a lot of times... Scheepy then began to drift off, again, eyelashes flicking before succumbing to that good night.
On the left side of the classroom, opposite of where Phula was seated, is Lulu's seat, which was occupied by two people: Lulu himself and Tiani... on his armchair.
"You think the new teacher's going to be nice? As opposed to the last one?" Lulu asked Tiani.
"Well, as of right now I've heard nothing about what the new Biology teacher is like, only bits and rumors and also his name. Stanley... was it?"
"I just hope he isn't as bad as the last one... Mr. Kanter was actually pretty scary at times." Lulu looked down, pouting a bit.
Tiani scoffed, "I bet you a hundred dollars that the next teacher is not even a tenth as bad as Kanter. I don't even think I even learned anything of value from him, aside from how to speak really, really fast and then yell at your students and insult their intelligence when they surprisingly aren't able to answer his questions."
"Well, I hope so..." He looked out the window, wearing a distant expression. "I think I sighed in relief a little when he quit the job."
"Guys!!!" Strange shouted across the room, "new teacher's coming!!!"
"Oh, shoot—" Tiani then quickly returned to her own seat, same goes for the other students who weren't in their respective seats; the sound reminiscent of a busy market slowly fading off like an afterthought upto the point where even a pin drop can be heard.
Two pairs of feet were seen past the doorway, and Strange quickly stood up. "Stand up......."
"A very good morning, teacher!"
The class followed and repeated the same action, "A very good morning teacher!"
Stanley nodded yes, and looked across the entire classroom, filled with a sea of adolescents. The sight made him sweat a little, but he hid it with a smile and said, "Please, take your seats."
