June 25, 1995

When she returned to her dormitory on the night of the third task, Willa simply lay staring at the roof of her four poster; curtains shut so that none of her roommates could see her. So she could ignore the outside world.

Never in her life had she ever felt this much pain. It physically hurt every time she thought about what had happened...seeing Cedric's lifeless body in front of her. Every time Willa closed her eyes, all she heard were the sounds of crying - her own and the cries of his parents. Everything around her seemed to just blur as one and her body still felt numb.

She was angry, sad and hurt. She hated every minute of it.

If there was any way she could turn back time and make sure Cedric never put his name into that Goblet of Fire at the start of the year, she would do it in a heartbeat. If she knew that the Tournament was going to end like this, she would never have let him even go near the competition. Not only did she lose the love of her life, but she lost her best friend. The only person who saw her for just herself. The only person who never judged her, or doubted her talent and potential. He always believed in her and now he was gone.

Her grief however, was nothing compared to Mr and Mrs Diggory's. They had lost their only son and Willa couldn't even begin to imagine how that would feel. She didn't want to imagine it. And what hurt the most, was knowing that there was no way he would ever come back.

Because there are just some things even wizards can't do.

When she woke the next morning, Willa's eyes stung and her body ached. She eventually cried herself to sleep and even now, she still felt like she had more tears left to cry. She didn't go to breakfast either, she simply lay in her bed staring at the roof again. The last thing she felt like doing was eating. Nobody questioned her, asking if she was alright – they already knew the answer to that. There was a significant change in atmosphere also. As if all the good and happiness in the world had been sucked right out - which it had.

She heard the door open and the sound of soft footsteps getting closer.

"Willa..."

It was Heidi.

"I know you probably don't want to do anything right now, but Professor Dumbledore would like to see you in his office." She said.

Willa didn't reply. She pulled the curtains on her four poster back, stared at Heidi who smiled at her sadly, and then reluctantly made her way to Dumbledore's office. As she walked through the castle, she could hear whispers from students passing by and could feel their eyes on her but she ignored them, and continued on her path to the Headmaster's office.

Willa arrived at Dumbledore's office and pushed open the door.

"Ah, Willa. I see Heidi gave you my message. Please, sit down." He greeted, as she slowly made her way to the old man's desk.
