I mean of course I should have known these people weren't gonna be like the rest and leave me alone. I wanted to act like I was still sleeping. Not answer at all. That would have been rude though and that's the last thing I'd want to be. I get up slowly and make my way to the door. Gosh I was already shaking and I hadn't even opened the door yet. I opened it, the door squeaking a bit. It revealed two tall boys. The twins. I look up at them then immediately look down. Over time I've learned not to look people in the eyes. It was apparently rude as I've gotten beaten for it in the past. I wait for them to explain why their here as I wouldn't speak myself. "Hey! We're all going to the pool in the back yard Uh......we were wondering if you wanted to join us! Get to know the family!" I looked back at my closet. I didn't have a bathing suit. Not like I'd get in the water anyway. It would be rude to say no but at the same time I just wanted to waste the next two months in my room till I was 18 and could leave. I don't want to do anything stupid and being with all of them together something was bound to happen. I should just let my anxiety get the best of me but I don't in fear of offending them. I nod my head and step out of the room shutting the door behind me. Their eyes light up and they run down the stairs. I take a deep breath and follow just not as fast. They waited by the bar stools for me to catch up bouncing like children. I bite my lip and walk behind them out back and past the garden. The colors caught my eye and I looked around. I loved this garden. We made it and there was a lot of people. Oh chocolate chip cookies. There was at least twenty people. There was a ton of children running around a couple adult mingling and some teens hanging by the pool. It was a HUGE pool. It looked like a blast to swim in. I personally love swimming even though I don't get to do it often. I was going to refrain from swimming today but maybe another time. A lot of eyes were on me some with glee and one with ummm hatred? There was this girl her feet dangling in the pool. She was gorgeous not my type but very pretty. Her skin was tan and her brown hair looked really healthy. I wish mine was like that. My hair was WHiTe. I was a freak and hated my hair sense so many people thought I dyed it. Her hazel eyes sparkled in the sun and she looked like she would be very friendly but the stare I received said otherwise. I was very nervous I had only just got here and already did something wrong. I looked away and curled and recurled my toes looking down at them. Something else to focus on. "Dads cooking up some burgers if you want one later! Feel free to go swimming or do whatever!" The twins both walked over to the man that took me over to the garden yesterday saying something and leaving. After though his eyes directed to me. I looked away and walked over to a big tree no one was by. If I just spent an hour here then I could say I was here but not have to talk to anyone and screw up. I watched as people talked and the kids played. This was gonna be a long hour. A little girl fell on a rock chasing some older boys. She looked like she was about to cry. Oh no the bean! No one else was going over and she obviously was holding back tears. I pushed back my anxiety to help the poor girl. I got up off the tree and walked over trying and successfully not catching anyone's attention. I sat down beside her not exactly knowing what to do. She looked up at me smiling a bit her eyes sparkling with something. I bite my lip and look at her knee it was bleeding but it was only a scrape. I very quietly after gaining up courage whisper to the girl. "Can I help you get cleaned up?" My voice was ruff from not being used in a while. She nodded her head and sprung up. I got up to and took her hand going around people not to get noticed. I hoist her up onto the kitchen sink and smile at her. I wet a paper towel and dab her knee. She winces and I humm a small tune to get her mind off it. "Do you know where they keep the bandaids?" It was quiet but I knew she heard me when she pointed to a drawer. I opened it and there was a ton of bandaid and neosporin. I grab the neosporin rubbing a bit gently on the cut. I hold up two bandaids a pink one and a green one. She points to the green one and I put it on her throwing away the rapper. I close the drawer and hoist her off of the counter top. I grab her hand and bring her back to the pool but now everyone's eyes are on us. Maybe I should have let someone know where we were going. Stupid stupid stupid. I look at the floor apologetically letting go of the girls hand. She runs back and they all continue playing the boys apologizing for not noticing. Many people go back to what they're doing but a women comes up to me and thanks me. At first I didn't even know what to do just kinda standing there. I nod lightly and she walks away. I release the breath I was holding and go back to my tree. Now maybe I can finish this with going unnoticed. The girl from earlier the pretty one goes off and plays with the children. I look over to some people by the pool. The twins were jumping in and talking with some friends. Ben was at the grill and Kate was at his side talking to her "girl friends" I would assume. Xavier stands the movement catching my attention. He walked over to the pool probably gonna go swimming as he was in swim shorts. He slowly almost to slowly takes off his shirt and sets it next to him. I would have minded how slowly he did it if I wasn't distracted by his abs like holy rocky road. How does someone even do that. It wasn't even the size of his muscles it was just how solid they looked. And toned don't forget toned. I look away heavily blushing. I could not think that nope nodda sip ziltch. This was so wrong I was not gonna be ogling his abs when I had to live here and it's rude. Right? I huff and lay my cheek on my knees hearing the water move I'm guessing he got in. There was water dripping in front of me now causing me to look up. The twins. "Come over to the pool. We don't bite it'll be fun." It wasn't even a question so I just got up and followed them. They went back to talking and I kept my distance. I rolled up my leggings slightly and dipped my feet in the pool and sat there. Guess I'm waiting it out over here now. After about five minutes of waiting Xavier's attempt at slowly getting closer to me didn't go unnoticed. I ignored it though but soon I felt two hands on my back shoving me into the pool. I didn't have time to react as a yelp. A manly yelp. Hmmpf. Left my lips and I was in the water. I held my breath and opened my eyes. I was met with the sight of people's legs in the pool and Xavier swimming down towards me. He looked worried but I knew how to swim and I gave him a thumbs up letting him know I was ok. He was just staring at me and I swam up not to comfy with the encounter. I wiped the water from my eyes moving my hair back. Bryton was staring wide eyed as Jackson was trying not to laugh snickering. At the same spot I was pushed from. Of course I was gonna have to watch out for these two. Xavier came up from the water glaring at Jackson as I pouted and climbed out of the pool. Great. So much for sticking to my tree.
