Maxx walked Cody over to the recording room when Zach and Dan were done with their sets from the one song. Zach and Dan could see the redness from the tears on Cody's face.
"Hey...," Zach was being a little uncomfortable. "You two okay? Cody?"
"It's nothing," Maxx replied. "Cody is going to be okay. Just leave him alone."
Dan spoke up, "What about the vocals?"
Maxx gave Dan a death stare. "We can do it another time. Right now we should head home."
Dan and Zach got their stuff and headed to the car. Maxx and Cody were left in the room gathering their things.
Maxx put his hand on Cody's shoulder. "You going to be okay?"
Cody gave Maxx an unsure nod.
"If you need anything just let me know. I'll always be here for you."
Cody nodded again.
Maxx and Cody got their things and headed to the car.
*Car ride back*
Maxx was driving and Cody sat in the passager seat while Zach and Dan were whispering in the back.
"You think Maxx has something to tell us about Cody?" Zach whispered.
"By the look of Cody's face, I would say so. He can't hide it. Maxx's not good with keeping secrets," Dan whispered back.
"I can't wait to hear about it."
*Back at the house*
Cody was in the bathroom washing his face off. He stared at his reflection as if he doesn't know the person who is staring right back at him.
"Come on, Cody," Cody said to himself. "Don't let some hallucination get you down. You have to fight it like Maxx said."
He shook his head. "Great. I'm talking to myself."
Cody looked at the mirror and placed his palms on the glass. "What kind of psycho are you, Cody Carson?"
Cody looked in his eyes for answers but failed to find any.
When Maxx walked in his room, he saw Dan and Zach sitting on his bed so excited.
"What do you have for us?" Zach blurted out.
"What did Cody say?" Dan added.
"You mean back at the studio? Cody's nightmare is so goddamn worst than I imagined. Worst part of it, he keeps seeing hallucinations throughout the day of the nightmare."
"Can you tell us, Maxx? What happened?"
Maxx sat down on his bed. "Cody saw this man that had a chainsaw. He kept trying to kill Cody."
Dan started to get caught up with all of this. "Maxx, spill the tea."
"It's not tea, Zach," Maxx felt a little affended.
Dan was a little concerned. "Who was the man?"
Maxx felt hesitation flow over him. "Well, um... Cody thinks that the man might be me..."
Zach and Dan had shocked faces. They sat there in silence until Dan broke it.
"Does he know that it isn't you?"
"I'm pretty sure, but I can't be certain."
"We have to help Cody," Zach said. "There has to be someway to get inside his head -literally- and help him."
Maxx put his hands to his face. "There's no way of doing that though."
"I may know someone...," Dan exclaimed.
