I hadn't heard from Alastor all day. It was odd, he usually called me to tell me good morning, and would come over after I got off work to spend time with the kids and I. But it was past eight, the three children in bed, and Alastor was nowhere to be found. I was starting to get worried.
I was wrapped in a blanket on the couch, watching Katie Killjoy torture Tom on the evening news when the front door opened. Alastor came in, blood splattered on his suit and a stack of papers in his hand.
"Holy shit," I swore, jumping up and rushing over to him, "Are you okay? Are you hurt?"
Alastor gave me one of his insane grins as he kissed me, then handed me the papers, "It's taken care of."
"What is?" I peered at the bloody paperwork, confused. It was a voluntary release of parental rights, signed by Marcus.
"Bastard needed a bit of...persuasion." Alastor chuckled darkly. I dropped the papers, hugging him tight.
"Thank you," I said breathlessly, kissing him. Alastor's arms wrapped around me, holding me close.
After a moment, he pulled back slightly, looking me in the eye, "(Y/N), you know I love you right?"
My heart did a flip flop in my chest at the words, "I...I love you too, Alastor." This man...the Radio demon, had done so much for my family and I. I couldn't help but fall in love with him.
