millie tugged at the uncomfortable fabric of her skirt, adjusting the length of the uniform and so forth.

she adjusted her small periwinkle cap that sat on top of her large pin-up curls and took one last breath inside of the air-machine's cabin.

a friendly, welcoming smile that she wasn't sure was real (but she was being payed for it), formed on her lips as she stepped out into the passenger seating on the airplane.

she made mental note of the passengers, some being obvious first-time flyers , for their faces were pale colors showing nervousness, some being old, some being still children, and some being in their twenties, which made millie quite anxious and uncomfortable.

but one gentleman in particular ;

stood out.

oh, he stood out alright.
