The one thing Luke hates the most is waiting. Even though around ninety percent of the time he is the person running late to everything. But tonight he happened to be not only on time, Luke was actually early. Half an hour early in fact, that was unheard of.

Luke and Ashton decided to hang around at this party that they're getting payed to play at, before the others arrived. Ashton was too busy texting his girlfriend to pay attention to Luke and he kept laughing at her messages, leaving Luke in the dark about their little inside couple jokes. At least until Michael got there with his guitar and pedalboard cases in hand. He drops both down to the side of the stage, next to Luke and Ashton's gear.

"Anybody heard from Calum?" Michael asks, letting out a few breaths after walking up a flight of stairs with heavy bags.

"Nope." Luke and Ashton say in unison, both sighing.

They knew that Calum was going to get stuck with his parents not wanting him to go, since Calum came home drunk the last time the boys all went out. Calum's plan to sneak back in quietly afterwards was all running smoothly until he tripped into his parents bedroom window and smashed it open. He was so close to making it. The damge ended up costing two hundred dollars of his own money to fix the window, as well as being his sisters personal driver for a month.

And when his parents asked what was going on at the time, Calum could only get out a drunken excuse about sleepwalking out the front of the house, which obviously failed miserably.

"He just told me he's bringing Ella." Ashton announces, occasionally glancing up from his phone.

"Why?" Michael asks.

"He said something about only being able to go if Ella comes with him, she must be a good example." Ashton scoffs at the fact Calum needed a babysitter for the night to leave his house.

Ella is Calum's stepsister. Luke, Ashton and Michael don't know that much about her because they haven't had the chance to really meet her. But they do know that she's saved Calum's ass countless times from getting into trouble at home and school.

"I wonder if she's hot." Michael spontaneously thinks out loud.

"Dude!" Ashton hits his arm and Luke just laughs along.

Luke now understood why Calum had kept Ella away from them for these past few years. They're just average teenage boys. That gave Calum even more the reason to be worried about them bragging about how hot his sister is behind his back, or even with him there.

"I'm gonna go take a smoke. Text me if Calum gets here." Luke nods, walking to the front of the house on his own.

Once Luke made it to the small grass area outside, he reaches into his pocket and grabs a cigarette and lighter. Smoking always seemed to calm Luke before getting on stage. It also fought the temptation of his addiction that Michael had started when he offered Luke his first drag.

In his defence, Luke had tried to quit earlier in the year. But that only lasted a matter of days before he started it right back up again. Quitting smoking isn't as easy as it may seem to be.

"Um hey. Have you got a lighter?" A girl nearby asks.

Luke nods, exhaling the smoke away from her direction and then lighting the cigarette that is hanging between her lips. "Thanks." She chuckles.

"No problem." Luke shrugs, biting at his lipring on the corner of his bottom lip. It really is just a lighter after all.

"So what brings you here?" The girl asks, taking a step back to lean against the tree behind her.

"Uh, just some mates. You?" Luke honestly couldn't think of the real purpose he was here, since he was so distracted by how attractive this girl is. God she's hot.

"Well I was going to have my boyfriend here with me, but instead I came with my brother." She scoffs, shaking her head. Just as she finished her sentence Luke's phone vibrates in his pocket.

His smile faded a little at the word boyfriend. He was already attracted to this girl and he barely knew anything about her at all. Luke chuckles at her response.  "That sucks."

"The struggle is real." She says dramatically and sighs.

"Oh well. Nothing beats being at a party full of wasted strangers you don't know, right?" A smile spreads across her face, tugging at the corners of her lips.

"Nothing better." Luke can't help but smile back.

He takes a moment to take a good look at her while she isn't looking in his direction. Her dark brown hair being dip-dyed bright red at the tips, is tied up messily. Following with her outfit consisting of a grey band tank top, short shorts and combat boots.

"Anyway, thanks for the smoke. Might catch you inside." She points at Luke, glancing at him with a soft giggle.

He stares down to her ass in those short shorts, having a hard time to look anywhere but there now. She looked even more increbible than he thought.

"Yeah. Hey, I didn't catch your name." Luke's response is a little delayed as she continues to walk inside, he at least wanted to know that.

"It's Ella." She replies over her shoulder, catching Luke staring and raising her eyebrows at him.

Luke then widened his eyes at her words and actions, looking away from her quickly and pretending he was never staring at her. Calum is going to kill him if he finds out Luke even had his eyes on her.

"Real smooth." He mumbles to himself, mentally hitting himself for being so stupid to realize it was his best friends sister in the first place.. The unread message on his phone screen confirmed everything.

Michael: Cal's here.
