Mr. Shaw - the man who escaped the woods as a child - was talking to the three hunters about his experience in the forest. He was resisting old age, with his eyes tired. He had a cigarette in his mouth as he examined the people in front of him.

"Look, rangers, I don't know why you're asking me about this." Mr. Shaw said shortly. "It's a public record. I was a child. My parents got mauled by a... "He stopped talking when he realized he was not quite sure what it was.

"Grizzly?" Nova completed in her soft voice, the girl tried to pass the maximum safety to the man in front of her, even if what attacked was not a bear, they needed the whole story.

Mr. Shaw pulled out a cigarette and nodded. "The other people that went missing that year, those bear attacks, too?" Sam asked steadily.

There was a strange pause, Nova looked around thinking of another way to get something out of Shaw until Dean filled the silence. "What about all the people that went missing this year? Same thing?" Another pause came.

Nova decided to try and get the man's information again. "Listen, if we knew what we were dealing with, we might be able to stop it."

"I seriously doubt that." Mr. Shaw sighed, lowering himself into his chair. "Anyways, I don't see the difference it would make," his lip shuddered at the memory. "You wouldn't believe me, nobody ever did"

Sam went to sit in front of Mr. Shaw. "Mr. Shaw, what did you see? "

"Nothing, it moved to fast to see, it hid too well and. I heard it, though." He sighs "A roar like no man or animal I ever heard."

"It came at night?" Sam asked and Shaw nodded. "Got inside your tent?"

"It got inside our cabin," Shaw said. "I was sleeping in front of the fireplace when it came in. It didn't smash a window or break the door, it unlocked it." Nova did not know any animal that knows how to open doors, the girl tried to find out what really could be. "Do you know of a bear that could do something like that? I didn't even wake up until I heard my parents screaming."

Nova swallowed hard as the memory of her parents, being attacked by something unknown came into her mind.

"It killed them?" Nova asked coming out of her trance.

"Dragged them into the night," Shaw said, his eyes glittering with tears, and he shook his head. "Why it left me alive -- I've been asking myself ever since."

Shaw hesitated before his hand touched the collar of her blouse. "It did leave me this, though." He pulled the collar down and showed three deep scars.

The hunters looked at each other. "There's something evil in those woods," whispered Shaw. "It was some sort of a demon."

Later, the three of them were going to the motel room, down the narrow corridors. They were arguing about what might have hit Shaw and his parents and possibly took Tommy.

"Spirits and demons don't have to unlock doors," Dean said logically. "They just go through the walls."

"So it's probably something else -- something corporeal." Sam shrugged.

"Corporeal? Excuse me, Professor." Dean said sarcastically.

"Shut up." Sam murmured, making the hunter girl laugh. He turned to her as they walked. "So what do you think?"

Nova shook her head, not quite sure what to answer. "I'm not sure, with the claws and the speed could be a skinwalker or maybe a black dog." The girl slowed her steps until she stopped, causing the other two to stop and turn to her "Whatever we're talking about, we're talking about a creature and it's corporeal, which means we can kill it." Sam gave her a terrific glance, then walked again, with the hunters behind him.
