The day The Incident happened was a dreary one. Almost as if anticipating what would happen, mother nature shielded her children. The sun was masked by dark ominous clouds and no birds sang in the morning. Flowers hugged themselves in fear and no animals came out to play. However, even though mother nature may have been dreading what’s to come, The Man did not. In fact, The Man had no idea he had a red dot on his forehead. At 6:00 AM, the bed was no longer occupied and the shower turned on. After coffee was drunk and toast consumed, the garage door opened and closed and the house was yet again empty. After the day of The Incident, The Man would not step foot in his house again. He arrived at work right when the clock struck seven, and didn’t leave until the sun went down. Even though his humble desk job didn’t pay much, The Man worked hard to support his family. The family that he’d never hug, kiss, or talk to again. It was pouring when he finally left his office. The cold wet droplets of the deluge beat down on The Man like a rapid fire machine gun as he slowly made his way to where his car was parked, walking at a 20 degree angle to battle the fierce winds trying to push him away from the car, telling him that he shouldn’t go home. But The Man did not know this, and thus climbed into his car and pulled out of the parking lot and onto the slippery slick road to go home. Alas, The Man never made it home. On the freeway, halfway between the safety of his roof and his office, mother nature was trying one last time to tell him to go back. Winds pushed hard against the car and the rain turned into hail, sounding like pebbles being thrown against a window as they pelted his car. The slick roads, slowly icing over, made it impossible to drive on. The Man struggled to regain control of the car as it drove with a mind of its own. Windshield wipers were going back and forth at a psychopathic rate as the car sped down the highway. Darkness looked through the windows of the car, laughing. Finally, right as The Man was going to merge off the freeway, The Incident happened. And that’s when the Devil claimed his next victim.
