The Point of No Return performance is when everyone is expecting Erik to show up to watch Christine so they can capture him and/or kill him. Instead, he tricks them by coming on stage and performing the song with Christine.
Sierra Boggess also does a fantastic job of exhibiting the sexual tension between Christine and the Phantom. Rather than being in a slightly auto-tuned movie (which is still amazing), Sierra is able to show everyone her astonishing vocal talent.
(Also, the video above isn't the best. The part I wanted to show isn't on youtube for some reason. Sorry.)
