Wesley and Peters mom, wait ......sorry. Wesley and Racheal, were in the kitchen making two meals which are twists off each other. Chicken alfredo, depending on how you make it, is basically a form of spaghetti it still has noodles and meat and a sauce that all serve the same purpose.
the two were having a lot of fun. they were laughing and singing random songs that popped into their heads and occasionally they would drop a bag of something....like flour and it would go everywhere. Peter and Yvonne were still in the living room except by now Peter calmed down and was no longer feeling the need to cry. they moved on from the subject of what to do about Wesley and started talking about other things like what college they want to go to. Yvonne agreed to stay for dinner after Wesley and Racheal practiaclly begged. Yvonne walked into the kitchen to see that it was surprisingly clean even though she heard things hitting the floor, the whole time. she decided to come look when she thought she heard a pan fall on the ground.
"Need something sweetie?"
"No? I thought I heard something hit the ground."
"oh yeah, we are some clumsy people but we got it cleaned up."
"ok just checking."
she started to leaving, turning the corner before realizing she needed Wesley. she then quickly returned, digging in her pocket.
"uh wesley?"
wesley stopped what he was doing and "walked" over to yvonne.(by walk I mean a very slow trudge.) when he made it to the counter he gripped it and tried his best to keep himself standing. Yvonne looked at him with Amazement and sadness.
" yeah."
she stared for awhile not realizing he was talking. she seemed to notice a beautiful metaphor about him being beat up......he's been torn down and beat into submission but he still rose from the blood and turmoil and somehow found the strength to stay himself, a true fighter.
"Yvonne?"
she snapped out of her thoughts, finally realizing that Wesley was talking to her.
" what, sorry. I just thought you might want these."
she handed him two wire bracelets. they weren't just any bracelets, they were bracelets that he had made. He made them one day in art class, He was originally designing and building the body of a knight completely constructed out of wire. it was a day of complete concentration and also a day where everything went wrong. the wire wouldn't stay together, he poked himself so much that his entire hand was bleeding, he got his hair stuck in the wire, and to make it worse it all fell apart in a matter of seconds. Angry he sat in his chair and took a break from the grey wire mess in front of him. on the table were some rainbow wire.(basically looks like colorful little wires that you find in electronics near the plug.....the colorful stuff inside the black cord.)he grabbed a yellow piece and wrapped it around his wrist. he then wrapped the ends to keep it togther. he did the same to the other bracelet but this time combining pink and blue. To other people him making bracelets looks like he gave up and didn't want to try anymore but to him getting the bracelets done meant two things. One, is that it's that sometimes even the smallest accomplishments can mean the most and Two being that in all that bad and goes wrong something good always comes out of it. from that day on he kept the bracelets, and yes he finished the knights body.
Wesleys eyes lit up when the bracelets hit his hands. He was to focused on other things like pain and posts to remember that the small things sometimes mean the most.
"Thank you!"
it was the first time in a long time that Wesley had excitement in his voice. not only that but Yvonne noticed something, that he was himself again. Since last night he seemed a little different almost as if he was losing himself but now he's found who he is. thank goodness they helped him before they got weeks down the road and it was to late.
Wesley slipped it on his wrist smiling, not noticing the pain of pushing it on a bruised hand. Wesleys body was dark, almost scary from the cuts and bruises but the bracelets seemed to show that he wasn't a scary monster he was himself. Yvonne came around the counter and gave Wesley a hug, a gentle one. she wrapped her arms around him, giving him a little squeeze making him wince. he put his arms on her lower back since he can't get his arms that high. her hugging caused some pain but he didn't matter pain was something he was going to have to get used to.
They seperated before smiling.
"ok I will let you get back t-"
"what?"
Yvonne looked Wesley up and down, admiring that he was wearing Peters clothes.
" You're wearing Peters clothes."
"uh yeah? mine were bloody."
" true.....it just looks cute but I will let you get back to cooking."
Yvonne turned the corner, this time not returning again. He trudged back to Peters mom who was still cooking away. he returned to the stove and put stuff in the pan, resuming the job he was doing before yvonne came in. She noticed the new pop of color Wesley had on.
"those are beautiful where did you get them?"
" I made them, I was in art class and nothing was going right so I took a break and fiddled with them and made bracelets."
" oh."
"yeah I keep them to remind me that sometimes the small things mean the most."
" well that is a beautiful thing to remember."
She gave wesley a smile. it wasn't a normal one though it seemed as if she knew something he didn't or even that when she said it's a beautiful thing to remember she had a different meaning that she would find out later. They continued cooking and yes continued dropping things and having a good time until dinner was finished.
"dinner time."
