Mal leaned over and kissed Marcy awake. She whined. He continued pressing kisses to her face.
"Why'd you wake me up?" She pouted.
"It's your birthday, Dove." He wrapped his arm around her.
"I see. It's my birthday but you want birthday nookie?"
He smiled. "No. But if you're handing out samples..."
"I guess I could do that."
ATU
"Happy birthday, Marcy!"
Marcy grinned as she continued walking into the kitchen. "Thank you!"
"Here's your breakfast." Joe set a plate in front of her. "Happy birthday, ducky."
"Thank you, Joe." Marcy was excited. He'd made crêpes and omelettes.
"So what are we going to do first?" Mike rubbed his hands together. Since college courses had ended, they only went to school when they had class. They spent the rest of their time together, exploring Connecticut.
"I want to go to the aquarium and the mall and to an apple orchard."
"You want to go to the mall?!" Quinn was surprised.
"Yes. I want to go to Barnes and Nobles."
"Should have known."
"Get bent, witch."
"You're so annoying!"
"Ditto!"
"Girls, no fighting." Laura bossed. "It's Marcy's birthday. We're doing whatever she wants."
"And then party?" Maddie hoped.
"The party isn't until Saturday."
"I can't wait!"
"It's just a carnival." Marcy smirked.
"I love carnivals!"
The older kids chuckled.
"I'm excited for you to open your presents from the family today." Mercedes sipped her juice.
"Me too." Marcy finished with her first crêpe. "I was thinking we tell people."
"Tell people what?"
"About me being pregnant. Not announce it on Twitter or anything but tell the family."
"You're ready?" Laura was unsure of this.
"Yeah. I'm 19 weeks and we'll be finding out the sexes next week. I think we should have a baby shower."
"This early?!"
"No. In September."
"Oh. Okay. We can do that. What day were you thinking to tell everyone?"
"Um... how about after next week? That way we can say if we're having boys or girls."
"Okay."
"You know we'll have nosy, busybody, interfering relatives here in no time." Marc drank his coffee.
"I know." Marcy wasn't looking forward to that. "But I can't hide it forever, can I?"
"I'm surprised we kept it a secret as long as we have." Mike drank his own coffee.
"Hey!" Maddie yelled. "I can keep a secret!"
They all looked at her.
"I kept this one!"
