HEEEEEY, IT'S ME!!! SORRY FOR THE LATE UPDATE... BUT HERE IT IS, CHAPTER 6! THANK YOU FOR THE LIKES AND COMMENTS, I APPRECIATE IT.
Rick woke up to the chirping of birds and faint walker groans, realization quickly sinking in. He is alone, here on a cabin and he does not even know if it is abandoned or not. He reached for his trusty gun, fastening it in his holster. He rubbed his eyes to regain consciousness. He stood up and inhaled sharply, the intense smell of musk and walker flesh hit him like a brick wall. He covers his nose with the back of his palm; He walked up to the cupboard and took out the supplies he had found last night and placed it in a duffle bag. He looks around the lonely cabin, dread pools in his stomach, “Where could they be?” he thought to himself. Rick put on his boots and leather jacket; he opened the door and went outside. He felt shivers rush through his spine as goosebumps erects on his arms and legs. The once hot and humid weather now replaced with icy wind.
He zips up his jacket all the way till the zipper gets in contact with his neck, the harsh breeze still noticeable on his face and neck. He starts his trek at where the woods and hopefully the road join. Sticks and twigs snapped from different places, paranoia quickly replacing Rick’s cool-headed exterior. With no person that could watch his back, Rick took quick but careful steps. He hunches his back to avoid the hanging branches on his path but he did not notice the bended tree root by his left foot, he falls down face first on the ground, dried leaves and brittle twigs that snapped once it made contact with Ricks face.
It did not register to Rick that a pile of dried leaves crunched behind him; the only thing he saw was a walker quickly staggering toward him. He reaches for his knife that is attached on his holster but unfortunately before he could get a hold of it, the walker pounced on him, the weight of the walker feels heavy above him. He struggles to keep the walker’s mouth away from his neck, hand and arm. He maneuver’s the rotten corpse’s mouth away from as he sees more walkers heading his way, piling one by one.
The weight became heavier as he tries his hardest to keep the first walker from biting him. Rick closes his eyes, thinking this is the last draw and this is the end. He kept thinking about his family and friends, finding him as a walker. He closes his eyes tightly, surrendering. He heard gunshots and dead bodies falling one by one. The walker on top of him stopped moving, he opened one of his eye to find the said walker lifeless,”Yah 'kay there, walker bait?” the man asks him, one of the thickest accents Rick has ever heard. Rick turned his head toward the speaker to see a hand in front of him, waiting for Rick to grab it and haul himself up.
“'m name’s Rhett, and you are?” The dirty blond haired man said, his olive green eyes shone bright even in the cloudy woods. He is tall, a lot more taller than Rick that’s for sure, ”R-rick” Rick said, still shaken up by the encounter. Rhett grabbed his hand and shook it, “Nice to meet 'ya Rick, it’s been a while since I saw a living person 'round here, y’know?” Rhett flashed him one of his genuine smiles, “Where yah headed, Rick?”He asked. “Going to find the rest of my group, we got separated along the way.” Rick said in a huff and rushed tone. “Well, I got nothing better to do anyway, and this is a good change to have company for once, I should come with you.”
That Rhett guy, he sure is handsome and charming. *wink* *wink*
If you have been paying attention to Rhett, you can see clearly that he is in fact based on someone. *more winking* I LOVE YOU, IF YOU KNOW WHO.
