~ A week after the murder of the previous boss ~

Dazai, whenever restless, would sneak out of the Port Mafia base to get some fresh air to calm his demons down. His usual hangout places were the Chinatown, the Cosmos World, the Yamashita Park, and the cafe near a nearly polished three-story red brick building. However for today, he wanted something new and different from the vast ocean he memorized long ago in the Osanbashi Pier. Something earthly centered to unwind with.

He decided to visit another local park, the Sankeien Garden. Knowing him, he lived his whole life in Yokohama yet he didn't have the leisure to explore it until the previous boss death. Upon arriving on the said destination he immediately paid for the entrance fee and nearly forgot his change due to the mesmerizing view of the cherry blossom trees in full bloom.

Spring.

A light bulb popped. Without hesitation, he decided to try one of the book's brilliant suicide plans inside the garden's premises though he must find a hidden spot to execute it. How troublesome. So he let himself be drowned in thoughts while wandering in the botanical gardens. He didn't notice the people around him until he bumped into a tourist and both fell on their buttocks and yelped the pain in unison. The people who were acquainted with him definitely knew this fact: he hates dealing with any kind of pain. Even though he was (and still) suicidal he avoided it at all cost. Not because his body pain tolerance was below average or something. He treated pain as a hindrance and a tiresome feature of being a human. Yet life would always mock him to fulfill its pleasure and cruelness.'

Can someone save me from this life? If God is real then I really want Him to send me a--'

"Hey kid," He hissed "you can literally see I'm covered with bandages to conceal my sufferings and you multiplied them in seconds--" He was about to resume his sarcastic comments but apparently God heard him. Slowly, his gaze rose at the young lady's figure and dazed at her face while voicing out his thought, "--an angel?"

"I'm sorry but you were the one who crashed into me," the lady stood up gracefully and brushed the dirt off her. Then took her damaged Polaroid and gently placed it in her purse. Dazai did not miss her apologetic expression as she held out her hand towards him, smiling, "Though I'm willing to patch you up and pay for your medical bills to lessen your agony."

"Deal," He accepted her hand and she pulled him up with ease. The wind blew making the leaves danced, and once again, he was mesmerized by nature's beauty complementing the angel's charm. A picture perfect scene with all the elements that he didn't want to ruin or end. Yet knowing life, he would keep it as a secret treasure-- a momentary love that bloom inside him, "So what's the catch?"

'Love? At first sight? How ridiculous, very childish. I have no time for such awful and unnecessary thing...unless--'

"Oh," The female was caught off guard yet as if reading Dazai's mind, "Are you asking me out even though we just met?""So what if I am?" He asked monotonously though there was a slight tint of pink on his face. He mentally smacked himself for losing composure in front of a stranger. If Mori knew he would tease him as a boy in love and that would hell. However he made a sugary comeback, "We can't be really certain with our repulsive generation.,, and I might your fated one."

"You're such a sweet talker despite your angsty appearance. Just like those K-drama actors that my cousin likes to watch," she chuckled, "Anyway, let's enjoy our day and forget the chaos around us, shall we?"

"As you wish milady..." Dazai hummed in agreement and followed her diligently. The stroll throughout the park was silent yet comfortable. They decided to stop by a food shop, Sankeien Saryo, to replenish their energy by consuming some sweet dango before resuming their so-called date. A cherry blossom tree covered with straws caught their eye. Certainly, they were reminded it of someone. She giggled as he proclaimed his defeat before laughing with her, "Fine."

When they passed by a group of Chinese tourists, Dazai remembered the lady's broken camera and felt guilty. There the urge to call Hirotsu and order him to buy that exact camera but disregarded the idea immediately. Just the thought of running away from his so-called home made his stomach twist. His grim expression turned into a devilish one."

Are you all right? Should we go skip the tea ceremony and go to the hospital now?"

Being reminded about their deal was superb. Giving monetary assistance to a complete stranger was like hitting the lottery jackpot in a lucky pick form. The Port Mafia could do anything with that amount of money. They can buy, upgrade and replenish all sorts of weapons they needed, owned and lost. They can even get that black permit without sweat but that meant he must continue his act more than a day. The lady's naive kindness was its fullness and at his disposal. Yet her sorrowful silhouette still lingered in his mind.

"Y-yeah," demonstrating what a Port Mafia executive could do and would do. Deceiving, "I-- feels like there are pins and needles stabbing my chest area...." He dramatically fell on his knees and gripped his polo. Every move and words were carefully calculated to avoid being caught red-handed. He heard hurried footsteps approaching from afar. Doing his special talent, to control his heart's pulses on command, would be risky without Mori but at least his affiliation would rejoice. 'They can reign without me.' He was supposed to accelerate them however when he looked at her. His heart halted and he lamely fainted. When he came around, his nose were greeted by the strong scent of antiseptic, "I'm in a clinic I suppose... but which one? Don't tell me--!"

"Rintarou!" a blonde girl shouted and stormed out of the room "Our rebel boy is back!"

"Ah finally you're awake, Dazai-dono," A man in white coat entered the room with some papers in hand, "You were lucky that I was in the same vicinity as you that time. If I wasn't or that smart lady, Mori-dono would be in great rage."

"Where is she?""She paid your 'bills' in full cash, you know. I wonder how her little purse fit that hefty amount of money." The doctor ignored the question and continued on rambling things, "Great work Dazai-dono! We are greatly in debt to that billion-dollar maiden."

"Cut the crap Mori-san." Dazai couldn't restrain his anger and his question came out as a hostile demand, "You did not do anything to her right."

"Is that a threat Dazai-kun?" after a moment of intimidating eyeing each other, Mori broke the thick air between them with a creepy smirk, "Only young girls interest me."

'God can you lend your ears for me again? I want to meet her once more. I will do anything: beg for her forgiveness, repay her kindness and (definitely) replace her Polaroid and even pray to You every day... just let our paths intertwine. Please?''
