Life sucked.

I slept in the sand last night, my stomach hurting from hunger and my throat feeling as dry as ever. My things have dried thanks to the sun but they didn't make the situation any better. Tom slept a little ways away from me on the sand also, we were in the middle of the beach— enough space between the ocean and us so we didn't get wet and enough space between the jungle on the slight chance that there were animals that saw us as dinner.

Waking up the next morning with a crab on my face wasn't pleasant. I swatted it off, slapping my cheek in the process, I got to my feet and started shaking off all the sand just in case that there were anymore little critters on me.

"You okay over there?" Tom called as he emerged from the edge of the jungle.

"Just peachy." I huffed. God I missed peaches. I missed food in general. And water. That's what we needed— we won't last long without food and water while we wait for someone to come rescue us. "Okay," I sighed, walking over to him and sitting next to him in the warm sand. "We need a plan."

"Water, food, shelter and rescue." Tom nodded, he must have been thinking about those things too. "I've been looking around in the jungle right here, I haven't gone very far but I'm pretty sure I can hear running water."

"It's probably a river, I hope so at least." I bit my lip. "My dad taught me how to spear fish, I just need a big branch that I can tie my pocket knife to then I should be able to catch us some fish." My heart started to heart at the thought of my dad, but I couldn't think about that right now— first I had to make sure that we stayed alive.

"Good. That's good." He nodded, I could tell that he was already starting to feel better about our chances. "This jungle might have fruit too if we look in the right places."

"Alright, then.. shelter?"

"I think the beach would be safer, but when we're looking for water in the jungle then we might come across a good place to stay."

"We?" I asked.

He met my eyes and raised an eyebrow, "Yes, we. We're not splitting up, Andy." I felt dumb after hearing him say that, of course we wouldn't splitting up. That would just be idiotic of us.

"Right." I chuckled. "Then that just leaves—"

"Rescue." Tom finished my sentence. He took a deep breath. "You never told me who you went with." He said lowly.

"What?" I scrunched my nose.

"On the cruise. Who did you go with on the cruise?"

"Oh." Was he going to be mad at me for being a stowaway? Granted, that didn't matter considering we were stranded on a deserted island but I still somehow cared about what he would think. "I went alone. I wanted a getaway vacation to sort of... find myself." It wasn't a complete lie, I did go onto the cruise ship to get away and think about my life but I was also still a stowaway.. "So.. No one will notice I'm gone."

"Oh." He mumbled.

"What about you? Who did you come with?" I asked quickly.

"My bestmate. Harrison." He cracked a smile but it quickly dropped after he said his best friends name. "The news will probably eat this up." He shook his head with a light laugh.

"Yeah." I laughed, "Two strangers missing from cruise ship! Where could they be?" I said a newspaper headline dramatically, making him laugh out loud.

"Wait, do you.. do you know who I am, Andy?" He asked curiously as he turned toward me. I tilted my head, what was he talking about? "Have you ever seen Captain America: Civil War? Spider-Man: Homecoming? Avengers Infinity War? Avengers End Game?"

"Uh.."

He chuckled, "Wow, you must be living under a rock."

I pushed his arm while laughing, "Hey! I have seen Spider-Man actually and Toby Maguire is a great actor." He laughed at me even louder.

"You are a strange girl, Andy." He smiled.

I furrowed my eyebrows. "Whatever." I rolled my eyes and pushed him again.
