I look down at the ground wishing that I could just freeze time. I am enjoying this so much, to where it's not even funny. No matter the pain when that spot gets the slightest amount of pressure. Which really stinks but, oh, it feels so good. How could someone pass this all up? I mean really. A few minutes later I notice that James has stopped. "Is something wrong?" He pauses then he says "no just getting ready to relax you even more if that's even possible." He chuckles. I start to think to myself 'what is he thinking about?' It finally hits me that he is giving my lower back time to relax so it won't hurt as much. Man what did I do to deserve this kind of luxury? Just then in the middle of the break that James is giving me, my cell phone goes off. It's my daughters ring tone. I ask James "Do you mind if I answer it?" He nods his head as if he were telling me go ahead, I fix my robe and get up and head to my purse and get my phone. I answer it "Hey sweetie, what's up?" There is a long pause on the other end, then finally I hear "Mom, I don't know what to say to Tiffany." I sit there puzzled as to what she is talking about. "What do you mean? Is everything ok?" Again there is a long pause. "Mom, she was pulled out of class by the cops and was told she isn't going home with her mom anymore." I sit there stunned not knowing what to say. As she continues. "The cops asked her if she had anyone she could stay with, that her mom was being investigated for prostituting her out to guys without her knowledge. I was wondering can she possibly stay with us." I say without giving it a second thought "Sure sweetie I will come by and pick you two up after school and we will go to her house so she can get her clothes." A few minutes later I am lying back down and James is getting the oil warm to redo my back. "Is everything ok?" He asks. He seems to know I am stressed all of a sudden. I guess because I have tensed up. I then think back to the conversation I just had with my daughter. What do you say in that situation? What do you say when your daughter says that her best friends mom had been selling her out to guys? I mean and when it comes up out of the blue. What do you do? What do you say? What would you say and or do? As my massages come to an end, James leaves and heads to the back to where I can get dressed and continue my day, then head home. I feel so refreshed, revitalized. "I feel so ... So.... Reborn." I guess is the best way I can put how I feel after the massages and then to find out my daughters best friend is being sold by her own mother. I can only imagine how she is feeling. My heart definitely goes out to her. I am dressed and ready to go and head to get the kids and head to the house to have a dinner that will be hard for all, conversation wise that is. About 45 minutes later we are at the house. "What would you guys like for dinner?" I stand as I look at all four kids wondering who will respond first. There is a very long pause; I don't know how much more of this I can handle. The long pausing I mean. Just then I decide to turn on the radio to get rid of the huge silence in the room and Atmosphere by Cody Longo starts to play. I kind of feel that the message is an amazing one and it's a beautiful song all the way around. As soon as the song ends Ashley stands up and says "I would like Chinese food, but I am going to let Tiffany decide." Just then I look at Tiffany and I ask as easily as not to feel as if I am pushing her. "Tiffany what would you like to have for dinner?" She looks at me as if she was never given the opportunity to choose what she ate. I feel so bad for her. "Anything is fine." She says very shyly. I don't really know how to respond. I can only imagine how she is feeling. How would you feel to go fourteen years trusting a parent that turns around and sells you to men? And now you are staying with your best friend which is a new environment for you. I let the kids know "I have an idea I will go and get some food and I will be right back." I turn and head out the door. A few minutes later I am at the drive thru at in and out burgers and then after that I am going to go to August Sunrise which is a Chinese place here in town, and then I grab my phone and call in an order at the local Italian joint that make fresh Italian food fast. About 30 minutes later I am back at the house I have a variety of food ranging from lasagna, ravioli, pizza, chicken, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, fries, and also a whole bunch of different things from the Chinese restaurant. I am so ready I hope I did the right thing. Just then the perfect song starts on the radio Miley Cyrus' Party in the U.S.A. It cheers up the dull depressed mood that has filled the house, but, then yet again it's understandable. A few hours later all the kids are asleep on the couch after watching a comedy Ace Ventura Pet Detective. I cover each of them up with a blanket, they all look so at ease and relaxed. I look at the clock 11:30 I head upstairs and lay down. What a day. I then fall asleep, and sleep peacefully.
