I have been stuck in this car for the past six hours and I don’t know how much more I can take. We have only stopped twice and that’s only because I wouldn’t stop complaining about needing to stretch my legs. Although, I have been able to entertain myself for the last hour and a half.
“Your aura is very black.” Nick commented, turning around in his seat so he could look at me, his hair falling into his eyes but with his hand he pushed it out of his face. I couldn’t decide if that was a question or a statement.
An aura was something that witches could see, kind of like a mood ring that surround each person and sadly, they could read it. Witches are very in tuned with nature and it is said that because of this, Mother Nature blessed them with certain ability’s that bended the law of physics and nature.
I knew why my aura was black, it was because I was thinking of death; their death to be pacific.
I was planning out scenarios in my head where each of them would die different ways, and I think came up with at least a hundred all together. Sadly none of them came true, although half the ones I imagined were not even possible but hey, a girl can wish.
I narrowed my eyes on Nick, wishing the scenario about his head popping off would come true. “I’m thinking of dark things.” I replied, my voice deadly calm, as if thinking dark things was a usual for me.
“Oh, carful there short stuff, don’t want you becoming evil-” Blondie who was sitting next to me, or Ryan so I’ve learned, paused for a second and put his finger on his chin. “Oh wait, it’s too late.” I turned my glare onto Ryan. I don’t know how he does it but he just grinds my gears and he does it on purpose!
He smirked at me, knowing he made me mad. I turned myself and kicked him as hard as I could in the knee and as best I could while seating in a car.
Surely if I had done that to a human they would be crying in pain, but Ryan who is a vampire, only flinched and rubbed his knee.
“Dear, that really hurt.” He looked at me, as if asking how I could do that to him.
Pft it wasn’t hard buddy.
I grunted, “Good.” And leaned back in my seat, wishing to be anywhere else but here.
I could see Ryan smirk at me out of the corner of my eye and for once in my life I wished I was a supernatural, I know it’s bad to say but I really wish I had the power of a supernatural to wipe the smirk off of Ryan’s face.
I sighed, “Are we almost there yet?” Alex wouldn’t tell me where we were going but I know we left Canada and crossed the border into the United States and since I have never been there I have no idea where we are going.
“Yes.” Was Alex short reply. Charming.
We turned off the highway and drove into a city that had at least triple the amount of people in my small town. There was so many people walking around, having little space in between them. I wonder how they could stand so many people being so close to them.
We drove for another ten minutes and a big building, bigger then I have ever seen before, came into view. We turned right and drove into the parking lot that was located right outside the huge bean stalk building. On the outside of the entrance, right above the doors in huge letter read “Nightingale Hotel”.
That is once gigantic hotel.
“Are we staying here tonight?” I asked anybody that heard me. It was about six at night and I was ready for bed after that long drive.
Nick spoke up, “No. The Wolf Leader is here, waiting for you.” He got out, as did Alex and Ryan, slamming the doors behind them.
I stayed in my seat, really not wanting to go see him. I always told myself I would keep my head up and be strong when I met the Wolf Leader but now I just wanted to go crawl into a hole. My nerves were going haywire and I almost couldn’t control my shaking hands.
