I quickly walked down the side walk, pulling my hood down more to cover my face. I didn’t look up, just kept my head down, looking at the shoes on the sidewalk so I wouldn’t bump into anyone. There wasn’t too many people around which I was thankful for.
A pair of bright pink five inch heels walked right past me. Who in the heck would torture themselves like that? I quickly looked over my shoulder to watch as the tall women passed me, although she was only tall because of the extra 5 inches the heels gave her. Her bleach blonde hair was blowing gently in the wind, along with her bright pink purse. I bet if she was to turn around, her face would be caked in makeup, no doubt.
I was too caught up with Blondie that I wasn’t watching where I was going and then it was too late. I slammed into a very hard chest and went flying backwards, landing hard on the sidewalk. My hood fell off in the process and my natural wavy red hair was scrambled all over the sidewalk.
I looked up at the blue sky, slightly dazed, while the sun warmed up my body. A head popped into my vision, blocking the sun. I stopped looking at the sky and looked at the head, a little confused to how I got down here.
It was a nice head. He had black hair that looked like it just got buzzed, that went nicely along with a set of bright blue piercing eyes. Is it even possible for hair to match the eyes? He looked like a model with that kind of face and even though he wasn’t smiling, I would bet my life savings that he had perfect teeth to match.
I looked up to his foreheads that was creased in wrinkles. I looked back down to his lips to see them moving but no sound coming out. That’s when the sound of cars and people chattering flooded my ears, along with the man’s voice.
“Stupid humans” I heard him mutter. He snapped his fingers in front of my face. “Are you OK?”
I snapped out of it and looked at him with an irritated face, “Yes this stupid human is fine from nearly being ploughed over by an asshole”. A look of surprise crossed his face but was quickly replaced with anger.
I quickly got up and dusted the dirt off my pants and looked at the stranger.
“Asshole? You were the one that was not looking!” He yelled, his fists curling at his sides.
Okay, I will admit to myself it was mostly my fault, but I was too proud to admit it to this guy.
I quickly thought of something snarky, “I was looking, I just thought you would have side stepped me instead of ploughing me over!” I yelled right back, putting my hands on my hips.
In a second he was right in front of me, “You’re so lucky that the human rights laws protect you or you would be dead in a matter of seconds.”
I couldn’t stop the look of surprise that slipped on my face. He was a supernatural? It’s so hard to tell who is and who is not, these days.
I quickly relaxed my face and smirked at him, “Lucky me.” I turned around and put my hood up, continuing in the direction I was headed in before.
“You are still an asshole!” I yelled over my shoulder. I heard a growl from behind me and smiled, knowing he heard me.
“I’m home!” I yelled into the house, taking off my shoes and putting down my hood.
My mother walked down the stairs, “Hello darling, how was your walk?” She got down to the bottom and gave me a hug, which I returned back, her nice motherly scent making its way to my nose, relaxing me.
“It was good.” I didn’t want her fretting over me running into a supernatural, so I didn’t bother telling her. She would never let me go walking again and I very much enjoyed my walks. “Where’s dad?” I asked her, pulling away.
