We walk down the streets chatting about each other and the area, "So there is Mr and Mrs Paryl there cool, especially on Halloween. They give handfuls of candy" Sarah says telling me all about the area and all the weird Americans who live here.
"And those people are?" I say pointing to a mansion-sized house far away from where we are walking. Brendon chuckles as everyone sighs, I turn my head in confusion not getting anything and Tyler soon notices.
"Oh, he doesn't know. Brendon dated a guy who lives there, Ryan Ross" Tyler tells me and I nod my head understandingly. "His parents are mega-rich for the area and own like twenty houses here for business," He says and I nod, He points to Jenna then saying, "He owns her house as well"
I nod again thinking about who this 'Ryan Ross' could be, I'm guessing a popular guy, maybe athletic? We walk a bit more till I see another house, not mansion size but big.
"And that's?" I say pointing to the house on out left, Tyler sighs and turn to Josh.
"That's Josh's Ex house, her name is Debbie Ryan," He says and I nod, So Josh is straight? Damn! We go past the house, the five of them holding their breath as we do.
"Hey Y/N how do you know American things so well?" Josh asks and I remember all of the teachings they did.
"they had to teach me EVERYTHING from scratch," I say to them and their jaws drop to the floor.
"Sooooooo Y/N where did you come from?" Brendon asked me and my face drops slightly thinking of home.
"Alsace in France, a smaller city called Colmar," I replied trying to mask the hint of sadness in my voice, but I guess it didn't work because Tyler then asks.
"Why are you here in Columbus now?" He asks coming to a stop, I shuffle in my spot feeling uncomfortable think about my past...what...happ-.
"Are you ok? Your crying" Jenna asks and I wipe under my eyes feeling hot tears streaming down, I take my jacket dapping my tears. Jenna pats my back comforting me and I take a breath in trying to calm myself down.
"I don't want to talk about it," I say to them continuing to walk and they follow as well, its an awkward silence as we walk to school. Fuck you had to mess this up! I scream at myself but then I hear Josh speak finally.
"So how is Colmar?" He asks me and I think to all the happy memories I have there, walking down the streets as a child and going on a boat floating down the river for the first time.
"It's beautiful, the buildings are old and beming with colours. People always seem happy here, there's a river you can go down on a boat." I say back remembering the old brick of the houses and fading oak wood beams wile plants hang from cills.
"I really want to go back, I really do," I say a hint of sadness in my tone as I do and Jenna smiles.
"Maybe one day we can go, go to Colmar," She says proudly and I nod hoping I can, I really want them to see this place in all of its beauty. We walk more and soon we get to the central area of Columbas and closer to school, There are cafes and a few libraries and parks that look like a nice place to hang out.
And before I know it I see the school building that I'm excited and nervous to see, the place I'll be spending my Junior year at. The building looks new-ish being built maybe twenty years ago. I see piles of students walking in clusters showing me the groups of friends. You see the typical nerds, goths, jocks, plastics, athletes, head of things, nice girls and boys the typical American groups you see in movies.
We make our way in and It looks normal with lockers, granite floors and cream brick walls and some red maroon pillars made of brick with blue doors. I walk with them till we get to the back off the school and a massive area with fences surroundings while there are tables, trees and paths with students all over.
