Hi, my name is Zolen Lohden. Me and my sister Narra both live in the city of Stonecoast. We live in Byoak. Our father owns the second biggest house in the city other than the leader. The leader's name is Brock. Narra used to cal him Brick when she was younger because she didn't know how to pronouce his name.

Now, my father is the captain of the army of our city. His name is Beltar. He is highly respected by the whole city except for Brock. My father is a big, built man with long hair. He has just recently gotten back from a long quest looking for some of an opposing city's forces. He had a bad gash in the left side of his long running all the way down his leg.

"Are you okay?" My mother Nahor asked.

"Yes," my father said while wincing from the stitches.

I had recently walked in and blood was pouring down his leg, but the doctors just dismissed the blood and continued stitching. My father could take the pain, but my mom insisted that she stay by his side.

"Nahor, I am fine."

"I'm staying by your side anyway honey. Zolen, go get your sister from Deila's house and go home. There is food in the cupboard, just make something quick. We won't be home for another couple of hours."

"Okay," I said and walked out to go fetch Narra.

On my way to Deila's house my friend, Dorian saw me and came running.

"Hey Zolen, I heard what happened to your dad."

"Yeah everyone has. He's the most fearsome captain in the whole city. Everyone respects him out of fear. When word of his arrival and that he got hurt EVERYONE was talking about it."

"Yeah, I know. So how is he?"

He's doing good. He is being stitched up and my mom told me to go get Narra from her friend's house and take her back home and eat, so I will talk to you later."

"Bye," he said and walked off.

A few minutes later I arrived at Deila's house. I knocked on the door and Deila's mom answered the door. "Hello Zelon, here to pick up Narra?" she asked.

"Yes." She called for Narra and she was wondering why I was here.

"Father got injured and told me to get you and take you home and eat," I said,

"Oh, is he okay?"

"Yes he is fine. He just had to be stitched. There was a long gash all the way down from his hip almost to his ankle. Mom said they would be home in a few hours." After that we walked home. It was a short walk but seemed like forever because I was wondering why my mom told me to go home so urgently.

A few hours later after Narra and I ate mom and dad walked through the door. Dad went straight to his room saying the doctor said to rest. Mom came into the kitchen.

"Narra. Zolen. We need to have a talk. You're not in trouble; it's about your dad. You both know that he is the most feared captain in the city and maybe in most of the kingdom, but what I'm about to tell you is why he is feared. Your father is a. . .magician!"
