Class B27
Today was the day. I was going to ask Ember ( the most popular girl in school) to go to prom with me. It was now or never.
I got up off the desk and headed towards the door. Finn looked confused, "Dude, what are you doing?"
I smiled, "I'm going to ask Ember to prom."
Everyone went silent. Then they started cheering and laughing. Finn slapped me on the back and grinned, "Good luck, dude. She's a feisty one."
I decided that Ember would probably be in the girls break room, so I went there first.
It turned out that Ember wasn't in the break room, but there was a crowd of annoyed girls staring at me.
"Uh, guys, has anyone seen Ember?"
"This is the girls break room, perv!" One of the girls shouted.
"Oh, um... sorry?" I backed away and the girl stuck up her middle finger.
My next guess was the cafeteria, but she wasn't there either.
"WHERE THE HELL IS SHE?!" I cried out.
"Who?" I heard a quiet voice say from behind me. I turned around and saw a pretty girl with her hair tied in a bun.
"Ember. Have you seen her?"
The girl nodded and pointed towards the music block. I thanked her and ran in that direction.
I entered the music block and went down the corridor to the first practice room. The doors opened and I saw Ember sat curled up in the corner. She was crying.
"Ember..." I started.
She jumped up and tried to wipe the tears from her face. "I'm fine."
"You don't look fine, Em."
"What are you doing here?"
I felt myself blush slightly. "Um... I don't think now is the right time."
"No. Tell me." She insisted.
I scratched the back of my neck. This was it. "I... uh.... will you go to prom with me?" I looked away.
Ember burst into laughter. "Oh my god, Ethan."
"What! Why are you laughing?!" I said, now offended.
She continued to laugh at me.
I stood there awkwardly, feeling completely rejected.
"So... that's a no then?" I asked.
"Ethan, do you really think I would go to prom with you?! Get a life!"
