I woke up to the sound of birds outside my window and the summer sun streaming through the curtains. I grabbed my glasses and stood up. It was sunny, but probably a bit cold. I pulled on a jumper and some trousers; then brushed my teeth and hair and ate breakfast. Mum and dad were both at work, so I made myself a flask of tea and headed off to school.
When I got to the school gates I was greeted by a large sum of tall boys, all with menacing looks on their faces. I tried to turn around, but one of them grabbed my shoulder and pushed me against the wall. One of the boys stepped forward and punched me in the face. I slid down the wall and clutched my glasses, which were now broken. A different boy pushed me to the ground and my cracked glasses fell from my face. I desperately felt around for them, whilst a chorus of laughed ensued. There were teachers there, but they just ignored it. They wouldn't care if they killed me. I could feel my eyes watering. I knew who pushed me. It was Finn. He's insanely good-looking, but he also happens to be the school bully. And he also seems to hate my guts. He kicked me hard in the back and walked away, his gang of bullies following behind.
I looked at my hands. They were bleeding. I could feel salty tears streaming down my face. I wiped them away with my sleeve and heaved myself. I was used to this routine by now. I limped into class and everyone looked up at me. They burst into fits of laughter. I sat down in the last free seat. I could feel eyes burning into my skull. I turned around and saw Ava Adesina looking at me. My face lit up, "Hi, Ava!" I smiled. I could hear giggles coming from the other girls, but Ava didn't laugh. She smiled back at me.
