So now that you've completed your house structure, you might just want to paint your walls anything more than just.."medium stone gray". But what if you're indecisive??
DON'Ts
-neon EVERYTHING-keep in your comfort zone
-have your house a black and white theme (unless it's done right)
-keep your color scheme with only TWO colors...
If you don't know what I'm getting at..It may look cute on a t-shirt, but that doesn't mean elsewhere. I advise you to NOT color your house like this, unless you want to have an Easter "aEsThEtIc" or make it look like it belongs to a party animal. The reason to why is because 1. The colors are too bright and there isn't anything to keep it calm or neutral. 2. If you're looking for a bright look, I feel like it's better to switch to a dumbed down version of these and add your own twist of matching colors
DO's
-blend in pastels with neutrals-make sure the colors clash well and are matching
-add some material to 1 or 2 of the colors. (You could add material on floors)
-Make your color scheme limited. 3-4 colors to be exact (doesn't apply for furniture, keep it matching if optional!)
If you're curious, here's a black and white color scheme:Even though I enjoy the color scheme, there is some problems with it.. 3/4 of the walls are filled with detail, which I don't mind in my opinion, but I just can't see them be unique to their own selves. The 1st wall on the left just feels so out of place. It could either be the color or detail, you could decide on that. But remember how I told you how to do a black and white color scheme RIGHT?
Well, here it is.Alexa, that's literally the SAME palette as the other one. WRONG when you look at the two compared against each other, you could see that the palette has gone limited and there's also more of a blue tint due to the gray. There isn't much detail/ material involved in the walls so the white and blue-ish gray doesn't get left forgotten into the massive burst of graphics splashing on your face..
But what if you DONT want to have a dark color scheme and want it BRIGHT? Well in that case you can use this as an example:
It may not look much, but see how each color could stand out alone and clash well together? It's a well thought up color scheme. Even though you have a dark color in there, you have it there to help the bright colors shine, but keep the dark color unique. If you've read the DO's, remember how i said to keep up to 2 materials on the "walls"? This is what i meant by that. of course you could use many other colors and experiment, but you could use this as inspiration if you really like it.
Wait a minute.. IM JUST A STARTER!! I can't come up with a color scheme ALL by myself!!
Easy there buddy, you could always ask a friend for a color scheme idea, or for them to do it for you (if they DONT mind)..but what if you dont have friends?
Easiest thing to do is to search up color schemes on your browser or just google! It's really simple to do if you have WiFi. Here is what you COULD search up:
