Never Look Back Part II: Looking Away

Chapter IX

Shanna

I went in, not knowing what to expect. I saw the Monster Master, holding a glowing object in his hand.

It was the Rock of Doom that Luke had!

"Let's roll!" he yelled, cackling. I looked behind him to see Austin, with wires attached to him.

"Oh, it's on now," I muttered.

The Master flew around, blasting venom at me in small, quick bursts. It also shot acid which ate away at the walls we were in. I was able to dodge all of that and shoot it in its head.

After a few shots, the Master stopped. It then spun around, firing lasers and weird blobs that stuck to the floor- and my shoes. I eventually was able to shake them off, and then shot the Master in the head a few more times. Then he stopped again.

After that, he grabbed his Rock of Doom. It glowed, and he grew to about 3 times his normal size. He repeated the pattern he did before, but this time it was stronger and faster. He also created assistants that fired bombs for him.

After he finished this pattern again, I was able to get a few more shots in on him. Then he yelled, "ENOUGH!", turned red, and then charged for me.

Now, he turned incredibly fast. Every time he stopped, he fired a HUGE wave of lasers that I cannot believe I was able to dodge. He did this three times, and then tried to jump on me. He was large, making that hard to dodge.

Finally, he threw everything he could at me, including those sticky blobs. I tripped over one and dropped my laser pistol, which the Master picked up and ate.

He then trapped me in a corner, and looked at me, saying, "How does it feel to be the weak one now, eh?" His eyes then glowed a devilish red and I knew it was over. I tried to call for help, but my mouth was dry.

Then, I heard a voice yell, "STOP RIGHT THERE, YOU CREATURE!" I looked up, and at first, I didn't recognize who the person was. Then I saw.

It was Joe Frigord! He also had a team of friends with him, all armed with guns and knives.

Right then, Sam, Sean, Elle, Rachel, Ben, and Luke came in, ready to fight.

Rachel

I don't know who the man was, or his friends, but if they were going to help us, I was all for it.

Sam started off by throwing as many rockets as he pleased at the Master. The Master screamed every time he was hit, and always covered his face when hit there. One of the man's buddies saw this as a good opportunity and dropped down on the Master's head and dropped down on him, shooting him several times before being knocked off.

I did my work and, with Sean, Elle, and Ben assisting me, shot the Master in multiple areas multiple times. Luke was then somehow able to sneak in, grab the rock that the Master held, and grow in size.

It was now powerful creature versus powerful creature. The two delivered powerful attacks to one another, but Luke was still armed with his grenades, which he fired endlessly.

Soon, Sam yelled, "Okay, on my mark, we all fire at him. One..."

I prepared myself. The man that Shanna seemed to recognize snuck behind the Master with a knife.

"Two..."

The Master roared at us.

"THREE!"

We all fired. The Master screamed really loud before shrinking down to a shrimp and disappearing.

Elle

Sam, Shanna, and I ran up to Joe and ambushed him with hugs. I yelled, "Thank you! How'd you find us?"

Rachel asked, "Who is this?"

Shanna said, "This is Joe Frigord. He was the one who helped us find you. But how'd you know where we would be?"

Joe smiled. "When you kids ran outside, I called in a few of my friends and we followed you around the area, curious as to what exactly you were doing. We tracked you through your first encounter with the Master, and through the entire adventure since Luke came. We also were able to find this base and hide, waiting for attack."

I wanted to sue him for stalking, but then he said, "Now, let's get Austin saved and leave this place, and finally go home!"

Something about him seemed suspicious. But whatever. We went over to Austin and did our best to unplug all of the wires from him. He fell to the ground, gasping. Shanna hugged him immediately.

I swear, she likes him.

Austin

I got up to see Shanna embracing me, and to all of my friends, looking at me in both relief and happiness, and... Joe Frigord?

So, of course, they had to clarify everything for me. Apparently Joe pretty much stalked them here. Oh well, at least he had a good reason.

So after I was freed, Joe said, "Look, I am a secret retired member of SF007, but I still have ways of contacting them. I'll get them to send a helicopter to bring us all home."

I guess our long mission is over.
