I was so thrilled that I would be going home early. I was literally skipping to the back room. I can't wait to tell my mom about the job. I grabbed my wet clothes, put them inside my bag and went outside to say goodbye to the others.

I was about to exit from the front door when I bumped into someone and lost my balance. I pulled on the person's shoulder to regain my balance but, lost my grip. I shut my eyes ready to kiss the cold ground once again, but I never went that far. I felt an arm around my waist, that pulled me closer to their body. Surprised, I opened my eyes, to only see something that I would never have expected to see.

My rescuer was a ... a guy ... about my age good looking with big innocent eyes and strong arms.  His lips were pink and thin. My eyes started going lower, slowly down his neck to his muscular chest.

We were in this weird position just looking at each other in the eyes. His left arm was holding my waist and my left hand was on his left shoulder. I took my eyes away from his dark-brown eyes only to see the eyes of a hundred other customers, and don't forget, my colleagues and boss, all staring at us.

I looked away. My face hot.

Why is this happening to me?

I quickly got my body off of his arms and ran passed the other guys that were behind him only to fall on the sidewalk again.

"Stupid heels!" I screamed.

"Careful there, honey," the guy called back from the door, smirking, then went back inside.

This is making me insane! And he's handsome face isn't helping!

I shake my head in dismay.

"I'm home mom," I announced as I opened the front door.

My right foot was killing me. I think I have twisted it when I fell on the sidewalk. I bounced over to the dining table and sat down on the chair. I brought my leg up to see what was wrong.

Shit.

My ankle was swollen and red. I looked at it, worried. It is a mystery how I made it home in this condition. The first thing that came to my mind was:

I can't let my mom see this.

She already has enough to worry about. As if my mom heard me say her name she showed up in front of the kitchen and I instantly put my foot back down, slightly hitting the table leg with my bad angle.

"How was the first day at work, hun?" she asked.

"It was fine," I replied with a smile, trying to forget about the pain my angle was causing me.

"Ok that's good, I left dinner for you on the table. After you're done eating, finish your homework and go straight to bed. Tomorrow is going to be a long day for you," she nodded and with that, I stared at the bowl full of rice in front of me.

Oh boy, she has no idea!

I fixed up my right ankle with some long bandages that I found in the medical kit in the washroom cupboard.

I went to my room to finish writing my three-page report, but the only thing I could recall was the incident that occurred at the cafe.

Is that guy a regular customer there?

Funny I didn't see him around before. Is he new around here?

Since when did I care about people?
