The judgement hall is quiet. Bones and scorch marks leave the once beautiful hallway in shambles. And at the end of it all... A skeleton who gave his life to save his timeline.
Sans feels his chest to find blood spilling out of his shirt. He'd cough repeatedly until blood starts to drip out of his mouth into his lap. "Welp, I guess that's it huh? Just don't say I didn't warn you." He'd get up and slowly limp towards the exit on the other side of the hall. "Papyrus... do you want anything?" Sans collapsed onto the floor, vision going blurry and body growing weaker every second. He could feel the tears roll down his face and feel the guilt of failure roll over his body as it starts decaying. He had lost this battle for the first time after fighting the human over twenty times in a row. He did his best. He tried his hardest. Yet he still failed. He had calculated his chance of success. It was impossible for him to win. No matter what he did or said, he was destined to loose. At this point his body was mostly dust and all feelings had become numb. This was it. Its over. The human won.
As soon as Sans' body was completely reduced to ash, the world went dark. For a few seconds, there was nothing. Then came a flash of light.
Sans jolted awake on his bed gasping for air. "What the? What happened?" Sans looked around to find himself in his room. He checked his chest for the wound he had from the fight. It was gone along with the blood. Suddenly Papyrus started shouting through Sans' door, "Sans, you lazy bones! It's half past noon, and you still haven't even gotten out of bed! If you don't wake up, I'll have to wake you up myself!" Hearing Papyrus's voice brought Sans to tears. He thought he had lost Papyrus forever. Now things seemed like they were the same from his dream, except him. Sans called back, "I'll be right out bro!" Papyrus replied, "As soon as your done getting dressed, get to your sentry station! I'll be attending to my puzzles if you need me!" Sans took a few minutes to calm himself down and get dressed. He was putting on his jacket as he left for his station in snowy as his brother insisted. The entire time he was asking himself questions about what seemed to be a dream. "What kind of dream could feel that real? Maybe I'll talk to Dr. Alphys once I take my break."
Sans made it to his post and stood behind the counter still thinking to himself. He grabbed a bottle of ketchup and said, "Meh, I'm sure it couldn't have been anything more than a silly nightmare. I'll shrug it off and feel good as new." Sans took a long drink from the ketchup before he heard the sound of screaming. Sans immediately looked where the sound was coming from and teleported to get a closer look at what happened. He studied the door that he would tell jokes to and realized the screaming came from the other side. Sans put his head against the door to hear if anyone was talking. He heard the sound of a knife making contact with flesh and another yelp of pain. Then he heard the old lady behind the door speak in a weak voice. "It wasn't you I was protecting... it was them. . ." Sans could swear he heard the sound of dust scattering and a soul shattering after hearing her last words. All of a sudden the door started to move. Sans quickly teleported behind a tree in the nearby woods to hide himself from what could be a murderer. The door would creep ever so slowly open, and Sans was quietly waiting to get answers from who ever killed that poor old lady. Sans' eyes dilated when he saw that the person who killed the old lady was the same person from his nightmare. His body started to shake, and his legs were starting to give out. Sans put one of his hands on his head and felt like this all happened before. It was like the dream really did happen. Or maybe it was a warning. Suddenly all of the memories he had about the murders became blurred. The human was walking the snow path. The snow would crunch under each step they took. Sans followed them up the Papyrus's gate. He felt as if he had already done what he was about to do but continued to do it anyway. "Human..." the human immediately turned around. Sans could feel his non existent stomach curling up into knots when he saw that the human was covered in dust. Sans just put out his hand without speaking. The human shook Sans' hand and the whoopie cushion went off. "Heh! The old whoopie cushion in the hand trick. It's always funny." The humans expression proved that statement false. "Not even a chuckle? Oh well. Anyways, I'm Sans. Sans the skeleton. I'm supposed to be watching for humans right now but... I'm not really in the mood to capture you." The human stood there with a blank expression and just stared at Sans. "Uh... my brother Papyrus on the other hand. Well, he's a human hunting fanatic. Actually I think that's him over there." The human didn't hesitate and ran directly behind the conveniently shaped lamp before Sans could get out another word. Sans and Papyrus had there little 'argument' and Papyrus walked off after making his backbone joke. The human didn't even bother waiting for Sans to say it was ok to come out and just walked off. "What are they up to?" Then Sans started having the memories of his friends dying flash into his brain. He couldn't make out much but he knew something bad was happening. Once again the memories became blurs, but this time Sans knew to keep an eye on the human at all times.
